I recently got back into books, and I finished one of the series I lovee so much (Mortal Instruments Series), and now I don't know what to do with my life. I'm reading Pride & Prejudice right now. Which is not at all a fantasy book. But, I was wondering if you guys have any good fantasy book suggestions? I like action, dark plots, definitely romance, mythical creatures. I want it well written (not dry), but no high school type things. I've had enough of the twilight look-a-like books. So, do you guys have any suggestions??

I have just recently got back into reading some urban fantasy in order to wind down from schoolwork and I have found myself absolutely addicted to the Dresden Files books by Jim Butcher.
The books follow Harry Dresden, a modern day wizard as he stands against the dark forces that are working in the seedy underbelly of Chicago. They have a lot of what you are looking for, but are light on the romance, though there are some seedier descriptive passages and definite hints at future romantic plots.
I believe there are currently 12 books in the series, but they are fairly short and easy reads. And if you find yourself on a trip you can get unabridged audio versions from audible.com or your library that are read by James Marsters who played Spike in the Buffy T.V. series.

Have you read Mercedes Lackey? http://www.mercedeslackey.com/biblio_series.html
if you want urban fantasy, she has a few from a few years ago The SERRAted Edge had some I quite enjoyed.
Now she's writing the "Elemental Masters" sent in the late 19th century and and she has the 500 kingdoms that are more "pure" fantasies, (start with The Fairy Godmother).
Of course there's the Valdemar universe and I quite like the Dragon Jousters.
