Hi! I've been playing the guitar since I was 15. I'm addicted since. I started from ordinary strumming and now i can do simple solos. I love playing rock, punk, alternative and pop songs. I have an acoustic and an electric guitar. I got some accessories too like capos, amplifier, and gadgets for distortions. I joined a college band when I was 17 up until graduation. I played the lead guitar. Now I'm 22, I conduct weekend guitar lessons here in our neighborhood and I teach teenagers. Here's the thing, I'd really love to shred the guitar freestyle, but I can't do it. Rockers please teach me! :)

The word guitar attracted me to read your post. Ok, i have three guitars as my collection, i did learn to play guitar when i was young and now i try to continue again with the help of You tube i happy it teaches me a lot of my favourite songs. May be you can look up there at you tube what you want to learn, but guitar teacher discourage doing that cause it does not really teach indepth about music but who cares i want a song i get to do it.

Sometimes I look it up on youtube but I really have to get the tabs to play it. The easy ones are easily played though.

Ignorant of me! I thought you want to tear a guitar apart... hahaha... I got curious so I read your thread... Anyway, wrong number... Sorry... At any rate, it's a good thing you are teaching the kids how to play the guitar. It helps to keep them off the street, gets them away from bad companions, and provides them with wholesome entertainment. I think there are also schools in the Philippines that provide scholarship to students with musical talents who join their bands. So, in a sense, you are also paving their path to a bright future. Do you also teach the kids how to compose?

Thanks for saying that! It's fulfilling to know all these when all i wanted was extra cash--just kidding. But when I see a person develop his/her talent through my teaching I feel really good about it. I wish I could harmonize lyrics and music--and teach my students, but for now I still have to improve. I tried to do a couple of songs but they're too mediocre.
