Growing taller at 20 plus!

Standing just a few inches over 5 feet, and my younger brothers starting to tower above me, I was wondering if there was any way that I could get taller even at the age of 21. So I searched the ever "reliable" (inset sarcasm here) internet for answers. And I came across some sites which claimed that the use of Human Growth Hormone has been proven to add up a few more inches to your height even at your twenties. And when I say "proven" I mean the testimonials they posted in the site.
I honestly can't believe these claims because I've heard that growing taller is only possible when those epiphyseal (did i get it right?) plates are still open, and I don't think it still is at 20+. Unless maybe, someone credible would personally tell me HGH works. Or maybe if a real physician or someone actually taking HGH speaks about it. What d'ya think??? =]

Did your research said about when the epiphyseal plates closes? From what i know, at the age of 18 , we stop growing taller. So after that, it will really the HGH that can still do wonders, if there's really one.

I did some readings on "epiphyseal plates" and I've learned that they usually close when a person reaches skeletal maturity within 18-25 years old. Depending on how fast your bones mature (this determines the pace the epiphyseal plates close), as a person's skeletal maturity may not always correspond to his/her age in years.
As for example, I may be 21 years old but my skeletal maturity might be that of an adolescent (hopefully. LOL)... So, if these are actually true, I still have a good chance of growing taller! =]

I'm 20 now. And like you, I also want to grow taller from being just 5 flat. And I've searched the net also about that. What I got was about doing stretching and eating some foods. There are also testimonials that it worked. Hmmm, though I'm not really exercising those tips right now. ;) I guess I'm starting to accept the fact about my height. ha ha

From most of my readings I've learned that in some cases a person may not reach his/her full potential in growing taller. One case is when the pituitary gland decreases its production of HGH or human growth hormone to the point that it is insufficient for growth even if you epiphyseal plates (growth plates) are still open. If this is the case, then its just so sad... But there's still hope if this HGH supplement actually works! =]

i was reading your discussion with interest and excitement. i am also wishing to grow taller. but i stop at 5 feet and few inches. many of my contemporaries have grown taller. well it is in the family i guess. now, i have totally given up growing taller, so i focus on pretending and projecting to be taller. at least in their eyes, i will be taller. heh3.

I see we feel the same way about our lack of height. But just so you know, research says that genetics only play a minimal role on how tall we can grow. getting taller is an interplay of several factors such as diet, exercise and even the medicines we have taken. =]

The title of the discussion caught my attention and I was really eager to check it. Can you give me a link to that? I'm already at 24 year of age but I'm still not satisfied with my height at the moment. I'm going to research on that too. Thanks for sharing this piece of information.
