Facebook Privacy: How concerned are you?

I have recently seen some concerned wall posts from Facebook friends about the social network's privacy issues. Today's concern highlights the fact that all your friends can check your phone number through a few clicks of buttons. While many of users aren't really aware of this, some who are, just leave all it up to Facebook. If not for our own safety, how about our kids or younger members of the family? Shouldn't we all be worried about how Social Networks know even more about us than most of our closest friends or family do?

Yes, I agree. Yet the youngsters somehow neglect this simple truth. Adults should always be there to guide them.

I am not worried. I don't post anything I'm embarrassed of. I post my poetry and links I find interesting. I write comments on my friends pictures. I do community organizing on facebook. It's an amazing place for organizing.

Well, good for you then. But as I remember, Facebook asks for a phone number for confirmation of accounts. And they store the info on your profile without the user's knowledge.

I never put information like a phone number, address, and other information on Facebook. Others love to put all kinds of photos on Facebook. They love the attention. I am careful about what I say. It is hard to trust even people who call you a friend today.

People really need to be careful on what they put on these social networking sites. Some even get fired for putting embarrassing photos or posts on their profiles. It's better to think first before putting anything on there. Thanks for your input!

I never put up my phone number on the facebook. I do not see why that is necessary to put up in your information, let alone showing it to others. I am not very concerned about facebook privacy because I have never really shared that much information on it.
As long as it doesn't get hacked, I am fine the site and its security.

Even if you don't put it in your info, I think facebook asks for your number for confirmation or added security in your account. And many users do this, thinking facebook won't publish it.
