LoL or WoW?

I'm currently playing League of Legends, and I like it a lot. I've had several friends tell me to start playing World of Warcraft, I know it's free until level 20, but when I start playing a game I can get somewhat addicted, and I don't feel like spending money. Do you think it's REALLY worth the money, and not ultimately a waste? Or should I just keep playing League of Legends for free?

First of all you just need to decide if you want to pay money for a game or not. If the answer is yes than you can start deciding if want to play WoW or not.
Secondly.. the 2 games can't be compared. I play them both and it's like comparing poker to rummy if you ask me. They might have things in common but many things are different. Rules, mechanics, graphics, social side.. WoW is much more complex and worth the money if you ask me. LoL is simple and repetitive, just the details change, WoW gives you variation of choices. You can do simple stuff, complex stuff.. you can play alone, in small groups or big groups, you can play against man or server..
Last but not least, if you worry about getting addicted you can play them both. Keeps you from getting bored by either or addicted to either.

You can simply try out world of warcraft for a couple months and see whether or not it's a good game. I believe in july its been changed very recently, with a starter account you can level up to lvl 20 and have 10 gold max amount on your character. From what I understand your starter account never expires, so once you reach your lvl cap at 20, you can try out different trade skills or explore different zones. The starter account is free and you can tryout the game for as long as you like and test it out.

Comparing LoL and WoW is like comparing Pop music to Heavy Metal. LoL and WoW has 2 VERY different genre; LoL is a MOBA, Massive Online Battle Arena while WoW is an MMORPG, Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.
I've played both, LoL and WoW, and I'm still playing LoL. I've quit playing WoW because I started playing Eden Eternal which is a different MMORPG. I play LoL when my friends are here, it makes it easier to work on a battle plan if your teammates are near you. I play Eden Eternal with my EE friends when I'm home alone.
You should compare a game to another game which has the same genre. Compare LoL to HoN or DotA, compare WoW to Eden Eternal or Perfect World, compare Counter Strike to Special Force or CrossFire.
You should have titled this as "MOBA or MMORPG?"
