What are the characters or qualities that take precedence when you look for a marriage mate?

In my case when I will look for my marriage mate the priorities that I will give importance will be a good human being with an appealing appearance . He may not be very handsome but someone who at the first glance makes me feel happy with his lovely smile .He should be God fearing as I am and must be having a loving attitude. I won't like a person who is materialistic and always talks about wealth and property but a man who reveals himself as being rich in spirit with full dependence on God. He should look confident and have good sense of humour . All these characteristics are important but the ones which surpasses all the above are his commitment,trust,respect and love for me .

Well, rollylolly those are very good characters indeed. I think if those qualities are possessed by many married couple, somehow there would a decrease on marital problems usually ending in divorce.

Every individual has it's own character/qualities. But for me, the most important is being responsible to his own self.

That would really be important as marriage involves many responsibilities. If someone cannot be responsible to himself,how much more to others.

There are a whole lot of qualities but I think the most important for me is someone who I would find interesting. Someone you are comfortable to be with.
Real life also gets in the picture so he must also be a good person in terms with his dealings with his friends, family, colleague and how he looks at life in general.
