Hiya myLotters!
A lot of members know about the sleeping condition of my son and how we went through with times. And for those who have no idea, my son Zyruz had sleep apnea for three years caused by the large tonsils he had. For over three years, he snores too loud like a grown-up adult. We thought is was normal but it was learned from the doctors that his breathing stops during the night when he sleep.
And thank God, someone came in to help us had his tonsillectomy, for free, in a first class hospital in Manila.
Now I came here again because a lot of people who knows Zyruz, wanted to know his condition and how he is doing now after the surgery. Well today, he is prefectly doing great.
Before it was a terrible experience as we, the parents who sleep beside him, could not sleep good and most of the time could not sleep at night especially in times he is sick. He usually had fever and colds almost every month.
But now, all of us can sleep better now, without worries that he could be gone anytime. We have better nights, better sleep now.

Hello Neil, oh my God that is great. That is great news because Zyrus is okay now. You and your family have a very normal sleep almost every day now. I think it is a blessing from God. Your family and you are such an inspiration to everyone of us, especially Filipino Mylotters. I am happy that you are free from worries about him and i wish it is for permanent.

That's nothing Neil. If that is the only way for us your virtual friends to help, why not help. I really did include your family to your prayers and I learn the value of family through your story, so I you help so many by sharing your story.

I'm happy to see you kid in such healthy and happy condition. He looks good and well! Nice shot! Well all I can say is "With God nothing is impossible." Who would know that TV5 will be God's instrument to solve Zyrus' sleeping disorder? What an inspiring story of God's wonderful goodness. May God's favor be always unto Zyrus and to your family.

Great to know that Zyruz is doing well after the successful operation. He is a lucky boy as the world was watching and monitoring his progress from the day he was admitted to the hospital until he was discharged. Now the ordeal is over and hopefully he will grow up to be healthy and wise.

Hi Neil! Thank you for the update. I'm so very glad to hear that Zayzay's sleep apnea problem is over with. I know you are all sleeping better now, not just him.
As a parent, I know how it feels when you have a sick little one and feel helpless. Many, many nights I had to stay up with my youngest son who was very sick with 13 different allergies and asthma. I had him in the doctor's office or in the hospital emergency room every other week. It was not a fun time in either of our lives, not until he was finally tested for allergies and I was able to get him a nebulizer for his worse attacks while he was getting five years of allergy shots.
How is Zayzay doing in school? Does he still like it?

hi marti. i remember when the good news arrived two years ago, you said that it's enough that i will update you with the condition of zay. besides, that is all i can do to return the favor. and still, i cannot forget those times and we really cannot forget about you, the angel for our little angel.
that's really a big thing for parents, to have a sick child and feeling helpless. it could be a less burden if we are rich but when they are sick and we are poor? :(
anyway, zay i think loves school. he learned a few nursery rhymes including "are you sleeping?" and the all time filipino favorite "bahay kubo". he also knows the basic figures and can draw them. counting and the alphabet and body parts.
zay already knows the different colors too. but this one could be credited to the "power rangers" which is one of his favorite movies to watch almost all the time. power rangers has blue ranger, black, red, and so on. lol
one problem with him regarding the school, he will cry in the room and even yell for "mama" if he will not see bebie out of the window. there were even times that bebie have to be inside the classroom because zay won't stop crying and yelling.
but all in all, i can say that zay is getting better. if the doctor said during the interview of the tv program, that what they are looking at with children with sleep apnea, or what they are worried about, is their potentials. they could not reach their potentials because while they sleep, their minds and hearts stop. so i guess, sooner as we expected, zay will reach his potentials. never mind the hyperactivity.

Hello neildc,
I hope he's good in taking care of his toys, because the one that I gave him was a completely pioneered by me.I believe a very large thorn was taken out from you because this problem of your boy before was really hard and I can attest with the video that I have watched lately. haivng colds and fever can be cured with sufficient sleep and vitamins. a lot better than her Sleep Apnea condition, which is now gone I think

buddy, kids love to play with toys but not everyone is good in taking care of these toys. don't worry, dad is a better caretaker of toys.
oh yes, it was a big thorn that was taken out of my burden. and so i thank you everyone.

Hi Neil,
After I read then title of your discussion, I was a bit apprehensive and I thought it's going to be something bad. When I read through the content, the apprehension slowly eases and then a final sigh of relief.
I'm glad your son is fine and I hope that he will be every time. Problem number one solved. Now comes problem number two, how are you coping with the tuition fees? . And I think there's problem number 4, 5, and so on and so forth.

hi ybong. sorry that i made you worry for a moment with my discussion. truly, that most people ask me, especially those who personally know my son or they've been a part of our journey.
you are correct, problem number one is already solved. now comes with number two, the tuition fees. gosh, if only i can ask for financial rescues from my relatives. but it's really sad that my step-daughter's father never bother to ask for his daughter's schooling. i remember he was the one who promised to shoulder her schooling but as of this moment, we don't even know how to contact him. anyway, i know God will provide.
hopefully, if problem number 4 and 5 and so on and so forth come, they will not be that tough for us.

hi neil hes growing up into a healthy happy little guy and it makes me feel so good to know that finally all the prayers and worry and all finally came to a wonderful end and Zayzay is back in really good health, His eyes are sparking and he is grinning and I would bet he does get into mischief occasionally but seeing him so happy and healthy I sure would not be too upset with him. lol. hugs form hatley.

hi patsie. yeah, Zayzay is back in really good health. remember, he always get sick before the surgery. we had to be in the doctor's clinic almost every month. with simple fever or colds, he should be examined and it will be followed by different set of medicines, again and again, each month. but for seven months after the surgery, he only had a fever once.
yes, he is back. he is healthy as we look at him. so happy too, that his mischievousness has not been lessen. he seems to be getting more a mischief everyday.

Great to hear that all is well with Zyruz! I’ve followed your story from the beginning and I am very pleased that all our prayers have been answered. It was quite an adventure, one Zyruz will love to learn about and remember when he’s older. It is good when kindness is shown and things turn out well. Thanks for the update Neil!

Hi Neildc!
I'm so glad to hear about that. I'm so happy for your son and your family. Parents would really do everything just to see their children safe, happy and healthy. At least now you and your family can sleep at peace during the night not worrying about your son's condition. Wishing you and your family all the blessings and happiness. God bless always!
