I was thinking maybe like ... sometimes we do forget to wear our watches when we leave the house but we can never leave home without our mobile phones.
Funny thing is that we always panic when we forgot to bring our mobile phone and even when we have the engine running in the car and was about to drive out from our home, we would still want to go back into the house to search for it.

Hi sjvg!
Though I do own a few wrist watches, I do not wear any of them. I use to and could not stand not wearing them as my wrist was so use to it. But with my cell phone always available to me I don't use any wrist watches anymore.
I won't part with them either as you just never know when I might decide to use them. lol

That is possible but I am one who puts my cell phone on my charger each and every night without a hitch. I also have a car charger too.

Hello HWG,
Oh thats what i like too i left it wearing since i was 13 or 14 years but now i am used to mobile phones and use it for seeing time also.
Due to this habit only i keep my mobile in the shirt's pocket so that i can easily take it out to see time.
@ Aurem i never let it happen most of the time i charge my mobile whole night.

I see that we're on the same boat sjvg. I have a wrist watch but seldom use it and actually have my brother in law use it. I'm already just used to using my cellphone to watch the time. It has been already a long time as well since I wore one.

Funny thing is that even though I try to wear a watch, I would still pick my cellphone inside the pocket and check the time. So since that time I never wore it because I don’t find it practical anymore for me to wear because I would still use my phone.

I used to wear the wrist watch till the time it was working properly. For about six months back I kept it at home and not even bothered to change the battery or took it to a repair shop. Now i am used to see the mobile or PC for time and hardly bother about wrist watch. These days it is very cheaper and is rather used as 'gift' for newly wedded couple, though personally I would not prefer that gift. haha..Those were the days when people had a wrist watch as well as time for others and you can see the current situation... although we are much ahead and technically advanced but still we don't have time for anything.

Hello Viju,
Yes its true that now a days i also don't see people wearing wrist watches for seeing time more often rather use mobile phones for it.And watches have become really cheaper these days and most of the time people do give them as gift to newly wed couple.

I always wear my watch til I get to sleep. i just take it off when taking a bath although it's water resistant. Im not a watch collector. i only one at the moment, and the current is longest watch Ive ever had. The others were lost or broken. Funny, because of the climate change, the watch left a white mark on my wrist.

I wear a wrist watch on my left wrist all the time. I do have a mobile phone but live where we have no cell service for some miles so I use both when in town. Mostly though I use my watch as it is there all the time to see where as my phone is not always handy or available where I live at.

When I was a child back in the 1960's they were predicting that we would soon have picture phones, where you could actually see the person you were talking to. It wasn't so soon, but they would have been very surprised to see that we have camera phones, and timekeeping phones, and internet browser phones, etc. etc. etc.
Anyway, yes I do wear a watch. I bought myself a very nice Bulova back in 1989,and I really love it. It's been in for repairs twice, and I hope to keep it pretty much forever.
But if I forget to wear it, I check my phone. :D

For a woman like me wearing wrist watch is not just for knowing the time. It is also an added accessory. This is the reason why I have watches of various colors. I want my watch to match the color of my apparel. For this reason alone it is but obvious why we can't substitute mobile to wrist watches. A watch complements an outfit. It looks really cute and very feminine when your watch matches the color of your dress and also that of your shoes and bags.

No, I don't. Even during the years when cellphones were not that "in" yet, I did not wear any. Why? My wrist, despite my medium frame, is really thin. Wearing a wrist watch, no matter how small the size of the watch is, would make me look as if I am wearing a wall clock LOL. On my last birthday,my husband challenged me to wear one by persuading me to buy a above-the-average-priced wrist watch (also as a gift to myself). I thought so too, that since the watch would cost me a lot, I will be forced to wear it so not to make the watch useless or my money down the drain. That still did not do it. The watch is still as good as new.

I wear a watch as I prefer it to the cell phone specially when I am outdoors doing shopping, etc. Normally a cell phone is kept in a bag. It is easy to look at the watch than open the bag, look for the cell phone and then look at the time!

I actually love wrist watches. I like the big heavy ones though, the men's watch to be precise I have always loved watches and I have this priced possession of mine, a men's watch. Dad bought it for me and I love it a lot. It looks pretty darn good and I only wear them during special occasions.
But yes, like you said, because of mobile phones and itouchs, one doesn't really have the need of wearing watches.

I still wear wrist watches even though I have my cellphone with me to give me the time. I use it to bulk up my wrist part because it is so thin. Also, I like such watches, I use it as part of my fashion statement. I especially like sportswatches and those watches which gives a formal touch. But still, haveing wristwatches gives me a more efficient way to look up at what time is it instead of reaching my cellphone in my pocket.

Yes, yes! And I must admit that I am one of those guys who has the habit of still looking on their wrists to see the time even if they don't have their wristwatches on. I guess it is just the habit of doing so. But personally, the look is what matters to me when it comes to wristwatches.

I love wrist watches, it's an accessory that I can't live without. I have 3 cellphones on my pocket but I still prefer my wristwatch when checking the time. My first wrist watch was a Gshock give to me by my father on my graduation day in my elemetary days. Now, I'm wearing a tag huer which is more expensive than my first car, the only difference is that my first car can take you anywhere while this watch can just tell the time. I hope I get my money's worth! LoL

I always wear a watch. Also my wife.
Also my kids still wear them.
I got my kids one when they were around school age. And they still like it.
For me its just comfortable. I got two smartphones (work, private).
But lets phase it. When I want to know the time I have to get out my phone, turn on display and look. While with the watch I just lift my right hand.
I think wearting wa watch is essential for beeing on time.

hey of course..i currently hag 3 wrist watch ..Drakkar Noir , Calvin Klein and a Phillip Charriol watch i just bought few weeks ago.. i wear them depending on which occassion..most time i wear the Drakkar watch ..its something like Tag Heuer..rugged and tough for impacts etc..
but starangely..since the dawn of "time telling" in celphones..i 99percent of the time will use my hand to take out my cellphone and look at the time..instead of taking my wrist to my face to read time..heheh..my wrist watch is just for wearing around the wrist nowadays..

Ever since I was given a wrist watch as a gift, I've always worn one. I feel incomplete if I don't have one on. And it's important, too! You need to get track of the time. It's very handy if you're the type who's always on the go.
