This happened to me today with my boyfriend and it kind of got me a little annoyed. We both have similar colored hair and the exact same shade of blue eyes but I don't think our faces carry any resemblance. Although, my boyfriend's mom has commented on how we kind of look related when she looks at us from the side and see our profile view.
But today we were at Dave and Buster's (which is like a huge arcade and restaurant) and my boyfriend and I were waiting in line to redeem our tickets for prizes. He was in front of me and got all of his stuff and when it was my turn I didn't have enough to get both of the things I wanted and the girl there was like "You don't have enough for both, you can have your brother lend you some tickets". She was a little rude towards me and as soon as she said it my smile quickly dropped and I just looked at her and said "He's not my brother...he's my boyfriend". I'm sure I was a tad bit rude but I was very annoyed. I guess it's a simple mistake that can be made but unless you're 100% sure that two people are siblings, don't say anything.
Have you and your spouse or partner ever been mistaken for siblings? If so, how did you react and how did you feel about it?

I think that you should actually feel proud and happy about it. You know, they say that soulmates carry a certain resemblance. Therefore, if you and your boyfriend look alike, that can only be a good sign.
I wish you all the best in your relationship! :)

There have been times when my husband and I have been somewhere and people have mistaken us for Brother and Sister instead of Husband and wife. I was like "Wow!! Really?" But then it was someone from another country who works where I do, so I guess maybe they would have never suspected it to be my husband. But in reality it can be annoying but just something you learn to deal with.

Yeah, I definitely found myself annoyed when it happened. That's the first time a stranger has ever done that to us. I think it would've been better if she asked if he was my brother. Instead she was sort of rude and just told me to "have my brother help me out". I'm sure something like it will happen again so I'll just learn to deal with it lol

lol, I wouldn't make a big deal out of it, why is it so important to you?
I used to tell people my gf was my sister just for fun, then later kiss her. =)

Yeah, I guess you're right. I think it got me so annoyed just because the girl was being so rude and then she had to tell my that my "brother" could lend me tickets. It was probably just her overall attitude and the way she talked to me.
