Did I Really Have The Time...Yes I Did...

I have been in many discussions where someone says they are just to busy to do a certain thing in their life. I myself have said it and it made me think...What can/should I give up to fit something in. Well, it's all about priority in the things we do. For instance this week I did not go to church and I justified it in my mind by saying I was just to tired and busy to go. Then I thought that God only asks a couple of hours of my time. My point is that I really had the time but I convinced myself that I was just to tired and busy to go, when in reality I was not. I have also done this with other things that come up in life. Is saying that one does not have the time just a quick excuse to not do something? If this is true...What would you give up to make time for something else? Do you justify to yourself or someone else by saying you don't have the time but you really do?

No I don't give any excuse unless I have to, work related. I'm sorry but my G-d Knows I an not going to Temple and yet He Knows I do believe and I will do my best. As for goals in life? I didn't have any unless you count playing beautiful music with my friends. And it was easy to make time for that. If there is something I Want to do I make the time.

Well sarahruthbeth, my intention here was to talk about time management. You say if there is something you want to do, you make the time for it. Then would you not make time for "your G-d"... Again, just one man's opinion.

I don't see going to church or Temple as making time for G-d. I don't see Him as a Gentleman caller. He is far too busy to come sit with me Every Saturday or Sunday. But if I need Him , He is there. And He is Always with me . I don't Have to Go somewhere deemed holy to talk to Him , He is everywhere. But if you think I have no time for Him just because I will not go to church or Temple . That's fine. I rather do what I want than Have to forced to waste and I mean waste time at an uncomfortable place Just because someone else says I have too.I know it will be a waste because I will tune Everything out and resent Every minute. And if you heart isn't in it, Why go? As for time management, I can do that very well. Besides I always say no, I will not do that. And the Only time I give reasons is when it is work related!

hi dennis. yes i do make excuses when it is supposed to be just laziness. my daughter and granddaughter always tells me to join them on a weekend exercise. but then i have to sleep early and wake up early the following day.. 4 or 5 am and that for me is very early (on weekend because it is supposed to be my rest day). i still love hugging a pillow or staying comfortably in my bed at those hours. and when they have left, i tell myself i should have gone with them and stretched those non working muscles. but then i say, i need more rest and sleep. aint that justifying? ann

Yeah... I know this feeling. I have done this before regarding the church thing. Yes Of course there's always time we just find ways how to manage it. Like you said prioritize what you really need to do.

Yes prioritize I guess is the answer, but sometimes it's just laziness that needs to be overcome. Hmmm...maybe I need to prioritize my laziness.
