Keystrokes not all hitting: Do I have a keystroke collecting virus?

Even as I type this, one out of every 12 or so keystrikes are not coming up. It is becoming very annoying, especially since I edit as I go, instead of at the end of a run like some people. It is also affecting my touchpad mouse movement sometimes, making it "jerky" instead of smooth. Norton hasn't caught anything but I know it could be new or not in their database for whatever reason. Anyone else having a problem like this? Or is it more likely my computer is running too many background programs? I have iTunes running and a second tab open in my Internet Explorer, plus the usual 30 or so Processes running. Ideas? Thanks In Advance, -The Computerized Rat

There is a possibility that you might have a sticky key. This usually happens on a laptop or a netbook with a defective keyboard. Other possibilties would include the system resources, try to open the task manager and see if there are processes that has a high mem usage and end them. If you still have the issue after ending the process, the high probability is the sticky key.
