Recently I have joined an organisation where I am working very happily. But my salary is on a lower side. But it is sufficient. Recently I have got a job offer from another organisation. This organisation will give twice the salary I am currently receiving. But I don't know much about the working condition. I don't know whether I can adjust to the new company. It is also hard to quit my first job. I don't know which one I will choose. Money or Happiness...Also Money = Happiness...This is the most important decision of my life. I am in a big dilemma right now. Need some help of fellow myLotters.

I would say choose money or the organization that would give you more pay. because to tell you honestly working your butt off at first is all expected and when you have sufficient money then that would be the time for you to drop the job and do whatever business you want and surely happiness will follow.

I would rather have happiness as money is not every thing.I think that a lot of people that have money are not all that happy, where as people that do not have much seem to be a lot happier.I think that some times people work too many hours to have spare money, but in the end it makes them ill, so they do not enjoy spending it.

I don't think that we really have to make a choice between money and happiness. I have always believed that we can be happy no matter how much money we have, providing that we manage it properly and are aware of what we can get with the amount of money that we actually have. I think that I would be happier in a job I enjoyed even if the salary was a little on the low side. If you're not enjoying your job, you probably wouldn't enjoy your life that much, meaning that there wouldn't be all that much point having a lot of money because you wouldn't be able to enjoy it at all.

Maybe you could take some time off from the first job and try out the new one to see if you like it or not?
I know for a fact that even if you make more money, if the working conditions are hell or if you dont like your job, you wont be happy no matter how much money you make. Sometimes its best to make less and be happy with what we do.
Good luck in whatever you choose.

Money is not necessary for happiness but if you have money it may give better happiness or you would be much more happier. Some people are contented with low salary and when they are contented they are happy. You seems to be contented with what you are getting as you said that it is sufficient. If I am mistaken, then there is no objection joining new company for higher salary. But you must also think about the job security. Which company will be paying you higher in long run. And I am sorry to say that I don't agree with your equation "money=happiness" as they are not always.

Hi debs, in situation like this you need to consider a lot of things. please note, opportunity knocks on our door once. However, compensation not only comes in monetary value it also comes in satisfaction, happiness, and career growth. try to evaluate, why they are willing to give that much, remember this saying "much is given, much is required." There are also companies offering higher rate because of the location of the office or the nature of the work (especially if life is at stake), remote area, cost of living is high, etc. etc. these are some of the things you may consider.
hope, this will help.

If I could find a better paying job then I have now I would quit my current job and go to the new place. Right now money is more important to me then anything else! I am so sick and tired of struggling with money! I am barely getting by and I really hate it! I truely hate it! That is what I would do.

How long have you been on your first job? It's okay to improve and move on to another job prospect if you have been serving your first job for quite some time. But if you are just new and then you will jump to another backyard, well I think you better decide if that work from other site is really okay. You will adjust again from people you work with, the job and such. But if you think you really are decided and strong to change your work, then go ahead.

There tends to be a rather blurred line between the two. Granted there are times where we have to grin and bear what we are doing, especially if other people are depending on the money that we are making. However if it is really just one person and we think that we have something to fall back on, then there might be times where we should choose happiness.
Naturally however, there are times where if we don't have enough money to get by in life, we are going to be miserable. If we are not comfortable, we are not really going to lead to happiness. There is a bit of a tight rope act, where we are really over a pit between the two. Still there comes a time where if our principles get compromised, its time for us to really reassess everything.

of course the money matters in the end. but whatever we are doing is for our happiness.but if you want both you have compromise some of them.
you said your salary is on the lower side, but you are happy.so i will advice you to stay.
and you should compare the other factors, like how much it is far from you, what the place they are providing you etc. you can compare two jobs and you can easily find the best one for you.
so choose wisely between money and happiness. As excessive money can ruin your happiness.
happy lotting.

Hmm. If you're the type who has this mindset of earning money to save up for the future (or other purposes, probably), then you're one to follow money as something that makes the world go round. But if you really, really want to be happy and satisfied, and want to have a life that's more fulfilling, then I suggest you try to "reprogram" yourself to put your mindset into inclination of pursuing a good career. Success is not always about money.

Happiness is important but you are also correct that money is sometimes needed to get that happiness. What I can suggest to do is to think hard about it. If you need the money to save up for the future, then I would suggest to join the organization who offers you twice the salary. It might be a gamble but you'll never know how will it end up until you try it out.

Happiness is more important than money. But not having to struggle every month to pay the bills increases my happiness. I think you should try to find out more about the work conditions at the place that just offered you a job. Double your pay is a very big deal and could make your life a lot easier. Good luck with your decision.
