Hi bielyn1886,
If you are casually asking this question, I would say, yes, I believe in God more than anything else in this world.
If god is above our five senses, it does not mean that he doesn't exist.
We can't see Oxygen, does that mean Oxygen doesn't exist ???
If you really want to discuss on this topic in detail, my answer will be, it depends how you define God.

If we understand something then only we will be able to have faith in it/he/she.

There is also the possibility that the reverse is true. To believe is to see.

My cousin told me the same situation what a co incident. Its funny how he answered his teacher, his teacher asked him i he believe in god he said yes, then his teacher said did you saw god he said no then his teacher said to see is to believe, then my cousin said "sir did you see your brain in front o you" his teacher said no, then he said "Sir to see is to believe" the point is about faith, I do believe in god because when I`m asking god to help me he help me in anyways that he can, and I do believe in miracles because of him.

I don't believe that I have a brain just because of faith. I believe that I have a brain because there is evidence supporting the idea. For example, there have been many, many other people who have seen brains in many other people, and I have reason to believe that I am physically similar to them. So far, I have no reason to believe that anyone has ever actually seen or talked to a higher being named God. And of course you believe in miracles. The belief in God is dependent on this premise.

There a famous quote that says something like this: " If you don't believe in God and God doesn't exist you didn't win anything, but if he does exist then you lost everything. If you believe in God and he doesn't exist then you didn't lose anything but if he exists then you won everything. "
Of course, I don't need quotes like this to believe in God because I know he exists... every single time I pray to Him I get an answer.

If you spend your life believing in the wrong god or gods it seems you will also risk losing everything.

Well definitely with no doubt I will answer YES. 100%. We don't have to apply that phrase always because In every rule, there's an exemption. And we don't have to really see God for us to believe that he really exist. By simply looking at the mirror you can see the most beautiful creation of God, just look around you. God exist in every single thing that surrounds you.
God is definitely everywhere. we don't have to question his existence.

No, we do not see God but we feel him within each and every one who has accepted him as the Savior.
I love the Lord and do not know how I would answer that question, maybe I should do a little more research on how to.

Your question begs the question; "What god or gods do you believe in?" There are many concepts as to what a god is. How can any person be so sure that what they perceive as a god is in fact a reflection of the true god or gods?
Every morning before I start work I pray to Ganesha, the patron god of writers for inspiration and am rewarded with ideas. Is this the king of proof that you are referring to or does it mealy reflect that by praying I am focusing my mind on my task and my mind is doing the rewarding?
The gods are only what we perceive them to be. Do not make the mistake of believing that because there is a popular image of a god is prevalent in your culture that it is the only possible god.

Do you 'see' electricity?
I have yet to see an electron. Have you seen an electron?
Yet I have a computer, and when I press the button it turns on, and runs off of electrons. I have a lamp, and I flick the switch, and the lamp makes light. I still have never seen an electron, but I can see evidence that the electron is there.
God may not be seen, but I can see evidence of him in the world. I can see prophesies coming true. I can see him work through people, and through governments, and through nature.
There are many things that can't be seen, and yet we believe in them. I believe in aerodynamic. I haven't seen 'air' yet push the plane into the sky, yet I know that aerodynamics says that air under the wing, in given conditions, will cause lift.
God is much the same. We may not see him directly, but we can see him working.

Does it really matter whether you can see or not see a higher being.
It's evident to me that there is something bigger than the human mind
because there are stars, planets, moons and there is the sun.
something made these things. Do I know who did it? I can't say for sure if Science is right or religion is right because they both contradict themselves. You were born free, some of us grow up thinking there is a god because our parents taught us that. Nobody knows for sure, you believe in what it feels right to you.

Though , i believe in the saying to see is to believe, i strongly believe in God even if i haven't seen Him. We may not see God , but we can see his works in us . The earth itself where we live is what God has created for us. The answers to our prayers are living answers that there is a God to believe.
Believing in God, without seeing Him is called faith.

That is really a very difficult question and hard to express and explain. If I were you, I would have answered "The same reason that you believe in God." We are really out of words if we as asked this kind of question. Yes, we believe that there is an existing God but we haven't seen Him. I could not quote from the bible but it is there, that we are blessed because we believe and worship Him even if we haven't seen him.

Our life is surrounded by good and bad, positive and negative, cold and heat, lightness and darkness. similarly God & Evil or Devil too. There can be some definition for heat, but what is it for cold, is it the ice or may be if i put the cold is the absence of heat but still you could feel it. So God is also one of those who can't be seen or touched but can be felt within ourselves. Thanks for this thought provoking post.

hi bielyn:)
Believing in God is about faith, you're right on your answer, nobody did see Him but we know that he exist, because of faith, many things are cannot really be seen or felt or heard, but we certainly know that its there.

"To see and believe" is such a popular phrase which most non believers of God use to justify that there is no higher power beyond this Earth. Though, God is beyond human comprehension so we don't see him. Do you know what God actually looks like? He works within mysterious ways such as through nature, through people. His presence is everywhere and we do feel it. Knowing is a way of believing.

Hi Bielyn, the other responders has answered your question well. I believe your theology teacher was just give you something to ponder over and think about. Like one responder said it is all about faith. Your eyes can play trick on you and it is called optical illusion, An optical phenomenon that results in a false or deceptive visual impression. I know I had a great great grandfather, but I have never seen him. My sister has a father and she has never seen him. So the same is with God.

I think you need to ask yourself, "Why do I believe in God?" I know from my own experience that I can't see the wind, but I experience the effect it has on the trees. I can say that I haven't seen my own heart, and I don't think anyone else has seen my heart either, but I experience my heart beating and keeping me alive.
That being said, I can say I've never "seen" God, but I've certainly experienced His love and faithfulness to me. Whether or not you believe the phrase "to see is to believe" really has nothing to do with your belief in God. That's an oversimplification of what faith is. Faith can be believing without having to see. Besides, there's plenty of things you can "see" that are only illusions.
So again, you probably need to ask yourself why you believe in God. The answer you give yourself will be your best answer to your theology teacher.
