hi mylotters. Euthanasia is a practice of ending ones life to relieve pain and suffering. I have a friend and until now they are in the hospital because his grandmother is in ICU because of different kinds of illnesses. Well actually the said grandmother only have a fever when they she was confined to the hospital but then since she is already too old, I think shes already 85 years old now, there are some complications happened that is why after 2 months in the hospital the illness became sever to the point that she needs to be in the ICU.
Now, the doctors were advising the family of my friends that to end up the suffering of the patient, they will just practice euthanasia they will just remove the oxygen because that is the only thing that supports her grandmother to breathe.
But in Philippines, euthanasia is not yet legal that is why if they decided to use that procedure, they will be asked to sign for a waiver. My friends family really love her grandmother they don't want to lose her but they also don't want to see her suffering in great pain.
In your opinion, do they obey the doctor so that their grandmother can rest in peace?

Wow!! Personally this would be a hard thing to undertake. I know I would be a little torn if it was me, and really wondering what is Best. I would think it sounds like the Doctors have given up and refusing to want to help her. If it was me, I would be seeking God like I did when my Mom was in such ill health, and dying and believing God for his will as well.

You mean "mercy killing"? I think it's the person's final decision if she wants to die or not. They should ask the person if she wants to die because it's her life after all.

Only God can take anyone's life. It is not for us. Whether the person is in pain and suffering so much we can't just end in life for the purpose of helping her. We should rather just go to God in prayer and request Him to better just take the life of that person if He does not want to give healing anymore. We can't never be wiser than God. He surely has a reason for not taking the life of the patient yet. It is not for us decide on the life or anyone in whatever circumstance.

TO do euthanasia ...you should also think about what doctor says but in the end..when the family start thinking about signing the waiver..what they should obey is what their mind and heart are telling.....also pray, for the answers will come and it will ease the pain of having the right decision not for them but for their grandmama...
