Every writer like to write in a certain atmosphere. What's yours? Why? When do you like to write? Night, morning?

The national forests are only a few miles from where I live. There is nothing like taking a drive up there, fining a fresh mountain spring or lake, and then getting comfortable under the shady boughs of pine trees. Bonus points for no loud hikers being around. Add perfect points from a small, warm breeze. This is my idea setting. To be in the peaceful wilderness in the morning is when I get my greatest inspiration. The nature goes on forever as far as the eye can see. There are no walls to trap me or my creativity. I really need to go up there again soon. :)

You know, that sounds like a dream! I have always wanted to just write myself to sleep in a big quiet forest like that. It is really amazing you can have that oppertunity. I wonder if it's a drive up there from where you are. Thanks soo much for replying!

I have a desk/computer area in my bedroom. It's a huge bedroom, so it's quiet, and ideal for me. For some reason I get inspired in there and it seems to boost my creativity. My favorite time for writing is late at night. I've always been a night owl lol. Sometimes I'll get an idea and start writing at 11pm or so, and the next thing I know I've been writing and find out it's 3:30 am or 4! Sometimes, the creative mood will strike in the daytime hours though, and when the mood strikes I've got to write it down right then and there. I find that my night time writing is mainly fiction, and when I get daytime inspiration, it's usually a manual, how-to-do, or other non-fiction type articles. It seems like my day time part of the brain is task oriented, and my night time part is flights and fancy oriented lol. When the mood strikes me to write in the daytime, I always go to my living room computer.

That's awesome! I love to write in a small, closed in area, so we are kind of the opposite! Though I do like to write in a quiet space. Yea, I'm more of the type to write fictional stuff, but I guess I could write non fiction stuff for practice! I hate writing on the computr in my livivng room. It just feels too open. Well, thanks for responding!

I love to write. I have never sold any of my work, but do a lot of writing on my blog, "My Life in the Spin Cycle" at floridapoolbum.blogspot.com. I post items on my Facebook page, on MySpace, MyLot, Twitter and write letters to the editor and to the network news stations. I created a room in my home where I have my momentos (some people call them nicknacks) that I have collected throughout my life. My sister's family calls it my "museum". My den has a computer desk. I splurged a whle back and got a second monitor for my desktop. It is great so I can acees research on one screen and have my writing on the other one. This is one of my favorite spaces in my home. I usually do most of my writing during the late hours of the night sometimes into the early morning.

For me it's different. I noticed that the best articles or stories I write when I'm depressed and I try to forget about my problems just for a moment. It can happen any moment of the day and the place is not important. I can write anywhere and as long as it takes to finish. I wish you nice day!

Hmmm, that's very iteresting. Surprisingly, I'm not the type to write when I'm depressd or sad. I hate seeing sad writing when im happy. lol Actually im not the type to write out my feelings on paper. I can write mostly anywhere outside. Though I can only be in my room to write whe I'm inside. thanks so much for replying!

I can't say as though I really have a specific place where I prefer to write. For me, it's not really that important. It will vary. So long as it's a comfortable place and I can be comfortable, then that's really all I need. As for the time, that will vary to. I usually write best, when I'm feeling sad, or depressed, or something to that effect. It could be morning, afternoon, or night. I do also try to write at other times, but I still find it easier when I'm feeling sad, or something.

I like to write at a table that I have set up for that purpose on my patio. I like to write either in the morning before anyone gets up or at night after everyone goes to bed principally because I like to read what I have written out loud so I can see whether or not I think it needs revision. What your?

I think mornings are ideal for me, but I'll write anytime I can. I don't really think I have a specific environment, but I know I really love to be able to write in the forest or by the lake by my house. It's really hot though and the bugs try to eat me alive while I'm out there. I tend to just take a notebook with me everywhere and write wherever whenever. Kinda like how I read.

I tend to enjoy writing at any point during the day but it seems my best work is late evening. I'm not sure why that is but I'm glad of it as the house is generally at it's quietest around that particular time. Of course, it all depends on my mood as well as the setting and noise level. If I'm feeling really down I won't write, if I'm feeling incredibly energetic and happy as can be, there isn't anything stopping me! :)
