Is it bad habit? To use laptop when we are in traveling.

surekha: I know though you may have mobile internet in many place during travel it will not work. During such occasions u can type in MS word, read and then post when u get internet connection. It is good to use time like this. But one must be careful in that our attention is not distracted during travel. it is advisable not to wear costly jewellery. One must not talk to all strangers during travel.

I don't think it is a bad habit to use laptop when we are traveling. As longas you don't find it inconvenient to bring it, it is no problem at all. Now I seldom bring the laptop when I have a travel since my bag is already so full. I prefer to use my cellphone to surf instead. It also works fine when I have a travel. I love China

Hi surekharathi, I like bring along my netbook whenever I go on local vacation or journey. It's for the convenience to surf net whenever wifi is available in the outlet I'm taking meal or at tea time. Yeah, I can access network as well along the express way while riding on the public transport. It's my pleasure to kill bored time on the express bus for hours to surf net. I really enjoy reading mylot posts while travelling. I would like to type posts as well if having inspiration then. It won't be a burden to carry a smaller and lighter netbook in my wheeled luggage Happy posting

This is not bad habit actually this a good habit because you were earning money. Anytime you can write anywhere coz you know how to handle and where you are. It is depend upon the place you are with. Hi surekharti ! Not at all. Indeed its a very good habit of yours to carry your lappy whenever you travel. You know, traveling is really boring when you are traveling alone. You need someone to have some interaction with. Maybe your hubby, your friends or any relatives. Plus, if you are an introvert, then you wont even be able to gather enough guts to strike out a conversation with other passengers. I think its really great to have your lappy with you when you travel. You can carry a net-connect data card for mobile internet connection. Go on, convince you hubby to get you one. :p.. Or you can use your cell phone's internet connection to stay online. In this way you can stay on mylot as much as you want. Happy mylotting :)

Is it bad habit to read while you travelling? Is the same question like using your lappi. By the way nice name:). I don't think so that this is bad. You do some things to pass the time. I've seen in London many people reading books and using laptops while there are travelling. That's became normal. I wish you nice day.

look...laptops were made for portablity...and mainly to avoid carrying a pc everywhere u go, bcoz that is difficult as hell...i.e. to be used during travel... that cannot be a bad habit....but addiction to anything is fatal...ok until u r working....ok even if u r having a break after work...

That is good while travelling one will definetly feel bored ,some like to have a talk with co passengers however not everyone can have a chit chat,so some like to be calm ,if laptop is there then it an be used for the time.

Let me give you some examples of bad habits: Smoking in front of children is considered a bad habit. Not only it can cause health problems, children might want to have a desire to imitate your behavior. Still, you can smoke as long as you responsibly go outside or an acceptable area. Leaving your clothes all over and accumulating mess should be confined in your room. Somehow, some people are reckless that they can leave other messes lying around everywhere. This could irritate your parents, your roommates, or whoever is/are living with you. You know that you have to get up early tomorrow, but few nights in a week you cannot keep yourself away from some discussion at mylot. There are some discussions that somehow suck you in. You become deprived of sleep some nights and have to be at work feeling tired. There are other kinds of bad habit for sure. What you are trying to do is to keep yourself occupied and productive with your time. You can save time and make your life easier.

Oh yes my dear sweet friend! If I had to travel too I would do the same. I would myLot if I could as this would make my traveling time easier and faster. I don't think it is a bad habit and there is only so much scenery one can look at. If it is safe to use your lappi during your travels I say continue on.

I don't see anything wrong with that. I sometimes write a discussion on my iPhone and then post it later. I think thats a good idea. I like the fact of having some posts waiting to be posted. Especially when you do not have that much time when you log into MyLot.

I think it is not bad to use laptop while traveling instead it is good that we are spending our extra time in working and not wasting it.

Yes, it's good to have a laptop along while you're on travels. I had one while on a few weeks travel and it was really handy. I could use that to surf the net whenever I was in doubt of certain things to do or certain places to go to. And when I didn't use that to surf the net, I'd type some notes on it as well. So, yes, it's a good idea that you're doing it like that, it's an advantage as well

hi surekharathi I don't think its a bad habit as you have probably seen that scenery a zillion times, and if you enjoy mylotting like I do you will have fun instead of being bored.I mean lots of people do not want to talk to one any way and what you are doing is sure not hurting anyone, and you seem to really enjoy mylotting.so good for you for doing something fun instead of sitting and being bored to pieces. lol.[

I don't think it's so cut and dry whether it's good or bad to do this. I think that if you would rather watch the scenery then you should put the laptop away enjoy the scenery. However if you feel very crunched for time and when you are traveling seems to be the only moment that you have to work on your computer then you should use that opportunity to do so. I don't think this is one of those moments where anyone can say that a person that uses the laptop is wasting their time on bad habits or that a person that doesn't is using their time effectively. It depends on you and what works for you.

The main reason why laptop and netbooks are very popular these days is because it's a mobile device. You can practically bring volumes of books and put it in one device. I don't it's a bad habit to bring a laptop if it helps you to improve yourself.

I think I would do the same thing if I were to travel like you. It's nice to keep ourselves busy while travelling. I guess if not, you would be sleeping all the way until you reach your destination, right?

No this is not bad habit rather this is a good habit. If had then I would also use because travailing alone is boring if family members or friends are not with us.

this is great discussion, in this modern era every body is feel him or her self like a computer. there is no hesitation that u r using ur lappi in train. while travelling there should be a partner and u have the great partner i.e ur lappi, so not to bothered about the ppl, its not a bad habit, because u r using ur free time and getting precious things through u r lappi
