When I got my first cell phone, I was crazy about texting. I do send messages many times to my friends, friends of friends, family and neighbors.^^ I spent lots of money on load. But now, I'm sick and tired of sending nonsense messages and chatting thru texting. I prefer calling them now and talk rather typing the keypads.
Do you prefer texting or calling?? Are you on postpaid or prepaid?

Hi, tess_quinain. I would rather call someone than to just text a person. My husband text most of the time on his Blackberry Samson phone. I don't see how he can do this. I think that my fingers would get really tired of texting all day long. My hubbie texts like this all day long on his phone! Gosh! I find calling a person to be so much more relaxing than texting someone on the cell phone. My landlord does nothing but text her tenants, and it is very annoying. I told my hubbie that she should try to pick up her cell phone to talk verbally rather than just to text to communicate with all of her tenants all of the time.

i think i like to send message than call if the target number is not the same provider..why?
because when i call the number from different provider, the cost call is very expensive...
and i had many bonuses to send message even to another provider number...

Hi tess_quinain, me too dislike to do texting nowadays for I find it's more convenient to chat or discuss on cell phone and get everything to be settled straight away. I still have to text as usual briefly if I can't contact the person for important matter. You know sometimes people don't call back me even though miscalls are available
Happy posting

I never have really gotten into the texting thing. I have always preferred talking instead of texting but that might have something to do with my age since I am in my fourties.
It seems that the younger generation are the ones who have really taken up with texting but I guess there would be some instances where it would be handy like if you were somewhere you had to be quiet but still needed to get a message out.

When I was in college, I loved sending short messages. Every night I sent messages with my boyfriend, he was in the same school. Every month I could send hundreds of messages. And my friends also liked texting, sending messages to friends, families. When the light turned off, we lay on bed playing the mobile phone, sending messages at the midnight. But now, I seldom send short messages. Sometimes when I received a message, I would call back instead of sending messages.

I love text messaging but now that I live so far away from home... I do prefer talking on the phone more than texting.. It's always nice to hear that voice of a person that you love!!

I rather send a text then call, though I do call when texting would just take too long. I have prepaid, but that's not why I prefer texting. My prepaid is $45.00 per month and is unlimited everything so no need to worry about minutes.
However, I just rather text, or talk in person then to talk on the phone.

I text most of the time. Not to say that I don't talk, but most of the people I talk to on a regular basis, perfer that I text them instead. I can aford it too. I have unlimited talk and text. And, I've got no problem texting. If I have a lot to say, then I'll ask them if I can call them. Or, if I need help with something not easily resolved through text. Other then that, I text far more then I actually talk to people anymore. Just as effective in my opinion.
With a sudden growth of Social media now on a more relyable mobile internet, I think more of the majority turn to social media to talk instead of using either method. Granted, texting and talking both... are still valuable. Don't forget it's called a cell phone after all.

i think i am pretty much like you. texting to me seem just more of a hassle. it is tiring especially when i do not get a reply soon.
when i was in the Philippines i used to have a prepaid sim kit. it was better because i never had anyone that i contact so often but now that i am in London i do a line phone because it is much cheaper.

I prefer doing both :) I have sufficient free call minutes and have free texts too but I don't text a lot coz I have the watsapp and chatting through it is pretty free, ony the need of wifi or 3g is mandatory :)
I remember wasting a lot of money when I was just joined high school too, texting. We had all these nonsense forward message kind of games and what nots!! God when I think of it, i think some telecom made all those texting games in order to get more money

tess-- Initially I took a postpaid connection. Later on found that prepaid is cheaper and am now on prepaid. In Indian conditions a prepaid is good. Re.using sms initially that everybody does. anything new we are crazy. It is cheaper to call and talk briefly than sending sms. In one scheme sms is free so I use to send sms wherever I can.
