Is Avast good antivirus?

My antivirus will be expired soon and I'm planning to install just free software. Can you suggest me a good one? What is popular these days? I also have tried before AVG and Kaspersky. I want antivirus that cab detect Trojan and delete it. Thanks.

For me antivirus is not the solution. it keeps your computer running slow. I suggest try this programs DEEP FREEZE or SHADOW DEFENDER. Once computer restart virus gone.

personally i never liked avast and it is just a nuisance as it does detects the virus but is unable to remove it with ease and you will be fed up with that piece of software very soon. you can try quick heal anti virus, kaspersky or nod 32. if you want free anti virus then avg is the best.

as far as i know this is the antivirus that my brother uses. he said he prefers this compare to other softwares. for me what works best is AVG.
