he...i have read this somewhere....is this a quote..... maybe something like this one....."Better to trust your enimies more than your freinds in times of trouble.." i am not sure about this...i read something on such lines...maybe wrong... anyhow, coming to your discussion, i trust my close friends and not friends....!...did you get it? to put it simply, a true close friend is one who is with you in difficuties, in happiness and he will be the only one who wil walk in when the whole world walks out....do you agree with this...perhaps having one true ....close friend in a life is worth a life we say.....so, i trust my close friend (him / her) and will keep close to my heart.....than enimies ofcourse....ha...ha...So, to conclude, i don't believe in keeping my enemies closer than a close friend...have i put it right?

Very nice. This is why I love my husband and am married to him. He is a friend who does not walk out. He has stuck by me through everything.

Well, I'm not the type of person who would prefer to keep my enemies closer. I think I should just watch them, keep a close look out for them. I wouldn't be rude, I'd be cordial, but that's about it. I definitely keep my friends close. It's against my own personal morals to live by that part of the motto, "keep your enemies closer" I just can't bring myself to do that.

Very thoughtful comment. Thank you. I agree about the watching part. That might make more sense.

not exactly sure but i do feel that one's best friend is also one's worst enemy!

Hmmm...I find that curious. I can sorta see the point, but would you care to elaborate?

I don't. It's a natural instinct not to want your enemies close to you.

That makes sense, too. See? Everyone is making sense to me, even though you are all saying different things. Ha ha...I have obviously not come to a firm decision on this.

Yes, cause that way u will know everything ur friends do and especially what ur enemies do!! :)

It does make sense in a way, if you have someone you know who you think is working against you. However, I do find in many cases, what is ignored, goes away.

Nah -- life is way too short to worry about people who are "out to get you." Fill your life to the brim with friends and there won't be any room left for enemies...

That is nice thinking and generally my point of view also. Just felt a bit paranoid there for a couple of days. Thanks!

no, what an un-enjoyable life if I have to spend that much time in the company of my enemies!

Aha! Good thinking. I'm really not sure I have enemies, but was just thinking of people to watch out for.

logic behind that is ??? :-?

the logic is that of course we keep our friend close, but if we have enemies, we need to keep an eye on them, so they must be even closer to us in order to do so.

An interesting one. There is much truth in that. One quote that is good is that the wounds of a criticism of a friend is much better than the praise of an enemy.

Hmmm. That makes sense to me. A friend is trying to help with criticism, but an enemy may be trying to hurt with praise or manipulate. I actually usually don't even believe in enemies per se, but just people be guarded about.
