Halloween

I know it's early but I like to plan ahead, so I'm already thinking of Halloween. I love this event and take great pride in decorating my house and I always do a display in the window. Every year I like to change the display so I love decorations that can go anywhere around the gome. When I search the internet for new decorations I always find that the best ones are always in the US and as I'm in the UK it would be too expensive to have them shipped over. So what I'd like to ask is if any other Mylotters in the UK can recommend anywhere to buy good quality decorations from? My only thing is that they are realistic looking, for example I purchased a pumpkin with LED lights which is made of a heavy duty polyfoam and will last a long time and everybody thinks it is real pumpkin. So wheter it is a online shop or a high street shop, please let me know. Many thanks

I am not in the UK, so I am not much help with the stores. I also saw that you want "quality" decorations, so you might not really like my suggestion. However, I know that you can get styrofoam, cut it to look like tombstones, paint them with grey spray paint and write on them in black marker or paint (the styrofoam gives it the "rocky" looking texture of an old fashioned gravestone). They are usually used outside for a graveyard, but I have seen dining rooms decorated in the Halloween theme complete with a "corner graveyard".

I'd guess though that buying the styrofoam, grey spray pain and black marker or paint would probably work out more expensive then buying a tombstone already made up. I prefer decorations that like realistic as I like the effect to look belivable as I think this actually makes it more scary.

I am sorry that our homemade decorations are not realistic enough for you. I was just trying to help, especially since you had said that nobody responded to this discussion and you seemed upset about it.

Sorry I wasn't being funny in my reply, but firstly I do think it would be more expensive making my own and secondly the reason why I'm trying to get some good quality decorations is that I am organising a Halloween party at my local football club and as this is the first one we've ever done I want people to be impressed so that they will enjoy it, come to us next Halloween and come to other events that I help to organise. This is my first year on the events committe and I want to be a success.
