The new Torchwood

What a brilliant but awful and frightening storyline the writer has come up with! It is a lot more disturbing than anything that has been on before because it is a what if? scenario. I find these much more menacing than any of those that include aliens and bug-eyed monsters. The idea of no-one dying on the entire planet is so appalling at a time when the population is increasing so fast in real life and there are famines all over the planet. I can't wait to see how 'Jack Harkness' gets out of this one! Does it make you think about how we would really deal with a major crisis? Could we be so cruel?

I have to agree the storyline is an excellent one but I don't think the series has pulled it off and its been too drawn out. Only one episode to go now and I do not have high hopes and if they plan on doing what I think they are going to do... well I won't be bothered watching the next series unless they are stand alone episosdes.

Having seen the whole thing now, I agree with you that it was too protracted, with a very peculiar ending. They didn't pull it off at all. I also think they should stick to this side of The Pond!

Torchwood has always been a favorite of mine. I watched it from the Beginning on BBC. The American Re-boot is just as good; maybe a little more sexy than the English version. The story was awesome. Just like "Children of the Earth," "Miracle Day" was dark and asked a lot of what if questions. I have to say that I really liked what happened at the very end. Can't say here..because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. But Jack and Rex's surprise makes me think more Torchwood to come with these awesome actors. We can only hope.

Just watched the last episode tonight. After all that! that is how they end it? I doubt if I will bother watching the next Torchwood series if this is what we can expect!. 10 episodes that lead nowhere. Great story but execution was so bad. Torchwood was so much more with stand alone episodes.

I agree with you there. Stand alone episodes work so much better.

Welcome to Mylot, Lisa! I too want to see more Torchwood, but the old type not the new!

I need to start either to down-load series from somewhere or order DVDs so I can see all the series they for some reason don't send here. Stupid Norwegian television channels, sending only football and skiing and skating. And depressive documentaries of course :-) Only fantasy series they send in Game of Thrones, no science fiction.
