To Shop or not To shop?

Every time I come in the big city, i usually set myself on limiting my expenses and when I went home, I regretted for not being able to buy this and that. So now that I have nothing else to do and i have come to the big city in the Philippines, I am like a total freak for buying things. Well, not really a total freak because I bought most stuff on sale. And this month, all the malls here are on sale!!! I am in such worry because my savings are used up and it is like I am almost draining. I just want to buy things without regret and eat in fancy restaurants.
Do you think this is just temporary? I can compromise with the lost savings, you think?I mean i know that not all the time these favorite stores are on sale so might as well buy things, right? And I can stop myself whenever they are not on sale, right?

Personally there have been many times where my husband and I will plan for certain places where we love to shop, like outlet malls, or driving to Portland and save up for it, so we know when we go there we will have some $$ to spend. Being able to get out for a bit and go somewhere you do not get too all the time to shop is Fun. It is a great way to relax as well.

yeah i agree. that is why i give my all when i shop in that big city because it's not always that I went there that it's on sale season. so, like last week, it was a month of sale period, so i spend a lot and buy only items on sale at a quality brand. but then i still spare some money for emergencies.

miessy24,
I always advocate and practice hesitations when it comes to personal shopping. Buying whatever is necessary or needed is always my policy and when there are some new attractive offers other than my "To Buy" list, I would try to ask myself repeatedly before considering.
Lastly, I will never spend or rather overspend to the effect that I will have to take out amounts that I intend to save or invest which is really very important here. I am sure you are familiar with the old mantra of "Saving for a raining day". So, I always make myself disciplined and deprived when the time comes.
