Two brown- parents usually produced a brown-eyed child, and tow blue-eyed parents almost always has blue-eyed babies. But when parents has blue eyes and other other has brown ones, their children are usually brown-eyed. The fact is that brown eyes are stronger hereditary trait, so that brown-eyed people far outnumber those who have blue eyes throughout the world.
So what color of eyes you have and your parents have. Well, for me, my parents have both black eyes. So I have black eyes. I do wish they were a little brown at least.

If you ever try to research on some biology, and or anthropology, you will come upon phenotypes and genotypes. Or perhaps reading up on a man known as Gregor Mendel, who studied these early on with different types of pea plants. Really interesting stuff. Furthermore, there is actually simple math which includes a phenotype/genotype chart that can calculate the odds of acquiring the trait. But generally, phenotypes refer to physical makeup, and genotypes refer to genetic makeup.
Final thought, I may be wrong, but pretty certain thus far, that their is no black eyes, just really dark brown, so your wish may come true. Check closely with a mirror if your eyes are black, or really dark brown, I do suggest to have white lighting in the room so you can see a nice reflection on the mirror. Cheers

I do notice that. When I looked at my daughter's eyes once when she was so small I thought I saw her eyes to be brown. Then it was black. Yes it is true that it was dark brown when there is plenty of light. Thank you for that. You dis share something so important and interesting. You are absolutely right in everything you said.

As far as I'm concerned, it has to do with genetics. Genes are passed on from parent to child. Children inherent biological traits, personality traits, and such from their parents through the genes. If there is another reason, then I am not aware of it, but that's the reason that I can give.

My mother had brown eyes and my dad had hazel, and I ended up with a light brown with a little yellow tint. I would absolutely love to have black eyes, either that or green, because I feel my eyes are too light in color..
As for brown being stronger, you are correct, but that isn't always the case. My sister had brown eyes and her husband had blue and their son had really blue eyes..

Thanks, I guess this is a case of "the grass is greener" which means we like what other people have. My daughter has a darker brown that she got from her dad and I think she has the most beautiful eyes. I sometimes use makeup to make my eyes look darker..lol

That's genetics! Eye color is governed by polygenic inheritance, not by simple Mendelian laws. Blue is a recessive color, whereas black is the most dominant. My eye color is hazel or grayish. My father's is brown, my mother's is like mine. Black is beautiful. However, I believe that any color is beautiful. I just don't know why we tend to long for what we do not have. White people, for instance, spend money on tanning salons, while brown people, use whitening soap. White people color their hair medium brown, while some black people, dye it blond, which is quite preposterous. Let us be happy and proud of what we have.

Yes, that is very true. Sometimes I really just can't help liking blue eyes. Your eyes are really nice. But my hair is so black and I never dyed it. I don;t want to ruin my hair with all the chemicals because for many I notice that the effects is almost irreversible. Thanks a lot for that.

I have black eyes too because both my parents have it too.
Funny that my little daughter was thinking that people with black eyes on childhood days would finally have a choice to change its color in adulthood naturally. She has a black eyes and dreamed of having a blue eyes later in life. I told her that what she saw are artificial eyes wearing blue contact lenses. Now, she doesn't want it anymore because she understand that it could be painful and not natural.
