Well, if you look closely, if your discussion is too simple, many myLotters, especially newbies, will respond to it. If your discussion requires some thinking, you'll notice that there will be fewer responses to it. I think this is because many users here target a specific number of response a day so I assume they respond to easier discussions first before moving on to intermediate ones, and even long ones, which are tiring to read, by the way.
