Hello there!
I would like to ask for your recommendations for legitimate translating jobs, if you know any. My! I'm looking for additional income generating activity and I'm not really sure if I can get jobs in the freelancer site and odesk.

Translating jobs? What do you exactly mean by this? Please correct me if I am wrong, I think you need to know two different languages for you to apply for a translating job. Like "translate this article from english to french". Is this the job you are looking for?

Yes. I'm looking for something like that.
Those that offer translating jobs for all languages. I found some sites that have those but they don't seem like they are legitimate offers. Being scammed would be the worst thing that can ever happen to me.

You can find some of the translation jobs in digital point or DP s it is called. You can also find them in some of the popular freelancing sites like freelancer and oDesk.

I've joined oDek before and I never won in any bid.
So, I've never earned anything from that site. Though I know that it is a good site. I'm just not good enough.
