Now I'm a junior. My major is English. There are many people preparing for the post graduate exam. I intended to apply for Zhejiang University previously. These days I have a lot of spare time, and I started to think out myself, my future and my choices. Actually, I know many people who apply for the post gradute do so because they fear of unemployment. It is true in China. Certificate is of vital importance for us to get selected. So many people compete for it without thinking too much about it. Our education is exam-oriented. And I hate it with a passion. I know this is not the best way for us.
Proffessional translaters and interpreters are the most needed in China now as the modernization and globalization accelerate. Unfortunately, even the best students in my class cann't pass the tests provided by translation companies. Why? After four years of study, we cann't get a job with our skills. The problem lies in education and also students themselves.
I've thought about it for many days. And I come up with an idea that I need to learn the skills and knowledge the companies want right now. I'm eager to train myself to be competitive. Unfortunately, few opportunities come to me. I've sent my resume to many companies so far, and received very few responses. Because I have classes to take and skills to learn, I have to find works online. That makes the job hunting even more difficult. But I will not easily give up.
Fortunately, two companies have accepted my application and I'm now working for them. What do you guys think of it? Can I succeed? Have I made the wrong decision? Thanks in advance.

I think you are being very wise. Don't wait for something to come to you, go out and get it. To many people just wait for something to happen, and guess what something does happen and it is not a happy thing. Your written English is very good, keep it up. Blessings

Really? Thanks so much for your encouragement. But the problem is it is really too hard to find a job when I'm still on campus. I think learn through practice is the best way and the best motivation to me. If you let me learn all the things from the book without knowing the real situations I will face in my future jobs, I will lose my passion and also aim. Well, I'm still doing the best I can to find a job that I can work online. May God bless me for the first step towards success.

I think you are doing a fine job. Your english is very good. If I had a large business I would want someone as knowledgeable as you on my team.
You have 2 compaies to work for and that will give you good experience for the future and the discussion here at mylot are great practice as well. I think you are on the right road to success.

Hi!Flash2, you are my old friend,haha... Thanks for your compliment! But my english is not good enough. And maybe I'm a little bit far away from being knowledgable. Thanks for your encouragement. It gives me some confidence. Hey! How are you doing these days? I've watched several movies these days. Wonderful movies! Bruce Lee is the hero. I love him so much. He is really a master of kungfu. By the way, what do you think of him? Is he known in your country? Maybe now Jack Chen is more popular than him.
