I heard in a news that some Filipinos were shot by a man after the man knew that they are Filipinos. This happened in Italy. I wonder why that man shot those Filipinos. What is wrong in being a Filipino? Is there something he hate about us? Honestly, I was very angry of what I heard because it affected me so much. My pride as a Filipino was crushed by such act.
Why do you think discrimination or racism happens? Is this fair with the people involved? What should be done to stop this? Share your thoughts guys.

What's wrong with being a Filipino?? I just can't see any wrong with that. You are alright, Pal! Nothing wrong with you. Stop blaming yourself or even the victim of the shooting, no body deserve to be murdered in this way. It is that racist from Italy that is scre* up inside his pea size brain, not Filipino, no intelligent human being can comprehend a biased and retarded mind. Cheer up, not everyone in Italy behave in such a despicable manner.

Yes, it is the racist's fault and not being Filipino. Anyone can be a victim of racism as long as there are people who think that they are superior and above others. We need to think that everyone is created equally and have each talent and skill which could help others and not make harm to them.

Discrimination takes place all over the globe and not only involves Filipinos. One reason is that a person of a certain nationality thinks that his country or his group is superior that others. Just think of the two major world wars and you will get my point. Whatever reason that prompted this man to shoot someone (in this case Filipinos) cannot be justified by doing murder. If a certain Filipino had done this person some wrong, common sense would tell us that only that person should be held accountable and not his fellows. But then, that is not always the case happening around us. Hitler hated the Jews so much that he murdered millions of them in the most barbaric manner. But that never made murder a right thing.

Yes, some think that they are superior and above others that they think treating others like crap is normal and deserve. But that is all wrong. Everyone of us is equal. No one is superior to other.

It's not a fact of being Filipinos, when there are racists it doesn't matter the country.
Yes, unfortunately in Italy we have such problem. People thinks strangers are bad and they are here to take our jobs. The fact is that there is a lot of ignorance and the fear of strangers is made bigger by the medias and the words of some people in the Government.
I really hope the way will change and in the future we can live in a more peaceful world.

I think your right about the fact of racism. It doesn't matter what country your from as long as there is a racist this world will never be peaceful and a better pace to live. Thinking about the job problem, those people should not blame the foreigners if they don't have job or their position are taken over. Because if they have been a better individual then they may have that post. Also, they should blame partly their government since there should be something that their government should be doing.

there's nothing wrong with Filipinos. i am a Filipino and I'm proud of it. what happened in Italy also broke my heart. those innocent Filipinos who are there to earn money to live and provide their families back home. anywhere in the world Filipinos are belittled knowing the fact that we are talented and hard working people. the world didn't realize how useful Filipinos are.God bless all Filipinos out there and protect them against violence and maltreatment.

Just ignore it.Some arrogant people are so evil.Racism has been existed for many years. Many people have struggled with it,but this hasn't been solved .The only thing we can do is to pray and hope that one day everyone on earth will live together in harmony.

I think we should just pray that those "Racist" will understand that each one of us need each other and not because one will overcome the other.

Upon reading your post you said...you are not sure about the reason.
So,how come you come into this point of concluding about racism.
Maybe there is a deeper reason other than racism in here.
Anyway, racism happens everywhere and to everyone depending on each individual thinking.
Admit it..but we also feel the same way...maybe unconsciously.
have a good day

Yes, I am not sure about the reason. We can think of a lot of things which lead to this. But we have to thought more broad and widen our horizon. So that we can see all things in different perspective and come up with a good decision which we will not regret.

Hi sweetie.
I don't think you should read to much into this okay.
Unfortunately we get idiots on earth and he was one of them.
It cannot be stopped.
Racism is something that's happening worldwide.
Just ignore it, even if it seems hard to do.
We cannot fight the whole world even if we wanted to.

Yeah your right, there are some idiot guys out there who think that they are superior to others. But I think we should not ignore this things. We can do something to fight racism and discrimination. We are created equally by God and we should fairly each other no matter how different our looks and social status.
Thanks for your comment!

Sometimes you cannot ignore an issue and you have to face it and make a move to correct it no matter how little your effort.

Racism happens if the person has love and pride for the country and also ignorant about other people's culture specially if they are immigrants or tourist. Unfortunately, we are no stranger to racism, we got a lot of ignorant Filipinos here and abroad so much that our own is also discriminated.
