People today can’t seem to live without mobile phones. Many will argue that it has become a necessity in today’s ever-rushing, perpetually trying-to-connect-to-whoever world. Can you still remember your life before there is mobile phones? Is it really a necessity? what do you think my fellow mylotters?

Yes, I can say it's a necessity.Even children as young as seven or even younger preferred to have one so that they can talk or text to their friends.I guess all of our actions seems to depend much on mobile phones, because it's the fastest communication to our love ones. And also having one may mean more expenses.
Before without cell phone, our life is not so stressful I think because we don't worry too much.

Yes, it's nice sometimes to have a day off with our cell phones.Because by using it sometimes you are wondering why she/he is not texting or made a call especially if your anticipating that he/she should have call or text to know his/her where about so you worry why.

yes I agree that having mobile phones is a necessity, to have communications with family and friends, and yes it add to expenses because of monthly bills and also by buying the mobile unit itself, but still it's nice to have a day without using mobile phone, I think it's less stressful.

Mobile phones have become a necessity but it seems not for everyone. Surprisingly, there are still people out there who still do not have mobile phones. Yet others are too dependent on their mobile phones that it seems there whole lives is stored on their mobile phones. I try my best not to get too attached or dependent on the mobile phone.

I think they have become a necessity, some people exaggerate, but for the ones who use it as they should, it is very necessary. Just yesterday i had gone to a friends house that is moving, for some reason my cell phone decided to stop working, i was alone at the time, waiting for them to get to the house, i needed to get in contact with them and could not, i could not call anyone, that drove me nuts, so i ended up getting in my car, driving to the new apartment, just to find out she had already left, if my cell had been working i would have known before making the trip. After i got to the apartment the cell started working again, don't know what happened, just glad i have my phone back.

yes that's true it becomes a necessity nowadays. yeah time like that you will know how mobile phone is important to your daily living, thats sad but still it's nice because you saw your friend instead of just calling them, maybe it's the reason why it doesn't work the time you needed it. so perhaps that's also the reason why other people have two or more mobile phones.

yes for some people it's a necessity, also to me when I'm out of the house so that my family and friends can communicate with me, but it's sometimes it's just nice to have a day off without using mobile phone, just to relax and live a simplier life for a day.

You say about mobile phones. What's the matter about electricity? In ancient days, there is no electricity. People at that time live with lamps. As modernism is increased day by day to meet the requirements with low work and little time. Therefore, all these facilities were come one by one. It is in the hands of people whether they would leave these habits or not.

flowerfest08, to me I could say mobile phone has become a necessity when my loved ones or I'm away from home. With this mobile phone those who are outside or at home have the convenience to contact any one at home or outside whenever or wherever they are handily, especially when urgent help is needed. Yeah, the time when cell phone was not available we could hardly connect whoever unless land phone or house phone was available there
Happy posting

It is not an absolute necessity though. The days have changed. We find the very same people who criticized the use of cell phones have one on their palms now! It seems they realized its significance rather late!

I can remember my life without a mobile phone. It was less stressful then. I think people rely to much on them. I think it's rude to be in public and talk on a cell phone. Especially, when you are at a restaurant or grocery checkout line. These people are paying absolutely no attention to the waitress or checkers. I can even begin to imagine what they are thinking about the customer. Best Wishes!

Well I think the answers depend on the responders, as for me, yes my phone is a necessary item for me. I cn't seem to go anywhere without it and I am totally dependant on it even for knowing the date and/or time. Without it I wouldn't know what day we are in and so on.
I can remember life without cell phones, i was in middle school and things were much more fun and stress free.

Hi flowerfest...Nowadays we really know that mobile phone is already part of our everyday life. Its now the mean source of communication. Before there is no mobile its less stress than now. Even though there are bunch of pros and cons when talking about mobile phones, but as new generation we must have to adapt the more high technology.

We can live a simple, stress free life without a cellphone.
I remember I was on my childhood days were cellphone is a "WANT" gadget and I do not even mind touching our soap like cellphone before.
We have to admit that cellphone nowadays is an all-in-one gadget. We can stay connected anywhere at anytime. We should also learn that in some part of world, cellphone or telephone is not even known in their vocabulary and they have easy and simple living.

Mobile phone and the internet are pretty much becoming absolute necessities these days. I have been traveling often on my business trips within my country and overseas. Whenever I travel, I carry along my mobile phone and my laptop computer, as the means of keeping in touch with my family and with my work place back home.

I remember when mobile phones, and the world of the internet were nothing like they are today. I watched technology explode throughout my life. I remember corded phones, touch tones etc. And, despite this I agree (for me) a cell phone is a must-have. I was able to break away from my phone (in a sense) and from the being tied down and paying bills I didn't need. But, with the mobile phone I can get rid of bills. Which makes me feel so... free as a person.
For me, my phone is a need. A connection to the outside world. It powers my internet for my laptop, and so much more. I can honestly saiy I don't know what I'd do or where'd I be without it. Obessed isn't what I am... smart. that's how I see things. Smart.

You can forget your wallet at home but not your cell phone...
cell phones have become a necissity and people cant live without it.. According to a survey.. 60% of the people sleep with their mobiles next to their pillow...now thats harmful for health... people are crazy about their cell phones and often play games or keep doin small things with it...
now a days u can chat, use the net n all on your phone...
it definately is a necessity...
