I just recently invested in a digital scale to replace my analog one. I find digital scales are far more accurate. Knowing your exact weight is important in your progress to lose weight. Some people like tha analog scales bettter, but I think digital is always right and also more up to date.

Well, I used both digital and analog in my schools. While I was in lower and middle secondary school, we usually use to use analog scales to measure weight, current, voltage for various laps. In higher secondary school, I used both digital and analog measuring instruments.
Well there are lots of advantages in using digital instruments. In analog, there are many errors, Errors with instruments and we need to consider all such errors in our calculations. There is also the possibilities of human errors while taking the readings as we have to count the divisions (very small one) with our naked eyes. There is every chances of making mistake. Calculations becomes complex with analog. On other hand digital instruments are very comfortable and easy to use. The probability of both and human errors are very low. We don't need to take pain counting the numbers of divisions which usually makes us feel like vomiting.
The only disadvantages with digital instruments are that they are expensive and they are delicate. We will have take extra care while handling it. It may break. They can also be temperature and light sensitive. So in such cases we will need a correct storage space.

You are so correct, which is why I brought up this subject, because I know there will be different view on the subject. I have seen for myself the errors a analog scale can give, compared to digital scales.

You are absolutley correct, having to do things manually can add weight to the scale from human error, and it makes the scale off, therfore giving you the wrong weight. I am just saying digital is better.

It is good that you came up with this subject. And I forgot to mention one thing. In digital instruments, we can directly do measurement in the required unit where as analog we will have to do all the conversions manually by ourselves which is again time consuming and also that too increases the human error.

I prefer digital scales simply because they are easier to see the number and I more detailed reading than the pound rounded off :P
I had a digital scale a few years ago that wasn't precise. It would give me different weights when I stepped on it a couple of times in succession.
After that, I bought an analog scale, but I found it tedious to use because I had to step on and off it very gingerly otherwise, the pointer would move too much and I wouldn't get my correct weight. Also, the lines were very close together, so sometimes, I wasn't sure what the number was saying.
Finally, I got a better digital scale and I find this one to be both precise and accurate.
I think different companies can have better models than others. One analog scale may be more accurate and precise than a digital scale from another company. I think it's important to read reviews about what other people say about the scale before buying one.

Yes, digital is better to read, there is no guessing. You also have to make sure the scale is set up correctly, so that you are getting an accurate reading. Analog scales can be tricky, especially if reading is in between lines, which is another reason I think digital is better, what about the ones who have a hard time with their site and cannot see to well, digital is perfect for them. Yes you are correct, it all depends on the brand of the scale also, because some are better quality then others.

In the past I had an analog scale at home. But it didn't work later. And then I bought a digital scale instead. The digital scale works better and especially I think it is much more accurate than the analog one. Especially it can work for a long time and will not have any quality problems.
I love China

Oh yeah they are both good to use, I am just saying one is more accurate than the other.
