Should Sreesanth be picked for the next test?

What do you think about the bowling line up for India in the final test match? Sreesanth really disappoint the fans. He did not bowl the right line and length, conceded too many runs. He is a good bowler but he is struggling to get his line right. Do you think that he should be picked for the next test? I personally think that Munaf if fit should replace him.

Ho cudamani, You said it rightly. There s potentiality in Shreesanth but that that is not a regular asset and when this is not a regular thing better look for an alternative. I do not think if he is retained for the last one would make some compensations.

yes, there is no alternative. The root is diseased right from the beginning.

@kul, he knows, she knows, they know, you know and I know and above all the whole world knows tat bowling has even been Indians aching point. When the opponents know their enemy's weakness they would not let go the opportunity. And my genuine question is why India is not having consistent be it fast bowler or medium pacer or spinner. When both the sides - bowling and batting come to reckoning then you speak of something or else stop this hide and seek.

Now this last test is inconsequential. So I would rather like India to groom the youngsters. I would like to see Sreesanth play as well as Raina in the middle. If anything I would rest the likes of Sachin, Dravid and Laxman or even Dhoni from this match. Probably I would also give a break to Ishaanth and put in Munaf for the last test. That way the second rung get exposure to the game and the planning for the future begins. Cheers! Ram

Yes, Indian cricket is at crossroads currently. I am not sure that Duncan Fletcher is the right guy for the job though. We need someone strategic in the back room like Wright or Kirstein!! Cheers! Ram

Hi cudamani.. all were worst from Indian side in this series and already our players have lost their tempo, so i dont think having sreesanth in team or not will affect something. There is less chance to regain the performance. I dont hope.

I don't think S. Sreesanth is a test player at all. He always contribute runs but goes wicketless most of the time. M. Munaf and Ashish Nehra is better than him. I wish Laxmipathy Balaji was included in the squad and given a place in the playing XI. He has got valuable tips from Wasim Akram after playing for KKR in IPL. He did some fine bowling too. Lets forget his last over against MI in the last league match but apart from that I personally believe he is not a bad at all. He can contribute with bat too. Had I become a selector I would have selected Praveen Kumar/Ishant Sharma, Rudra Pratap Singh and Laxmipathy Balaji and Amit Mishra. Though Mishra gave too many runs but he got some wickets too. But the key is in the hand of the pace bowlers. I don't think Praveen will able to play in the last test match after getting injury. So we have M. Patel, R P Singh, S Sreesanth and I Sharma. Missing Zaheer Khan was a big blow but still we can hope for better result (a draw) in the last test match. However, Balaji is not here so we hope M. Patel, I Sharma are going to be automatic choice. The battle is between R P Singh and S Sreesanth. I believe R P is going to get the chance as he is fresh and he is favorite of the skipper M S Dhoni too. Sreesanth's poor contribution can also become a drawback for him.

Sreesanth is one of the most talented bowlers India have got,but the problem with him is he does not have the required fitness level to play test cricket consistently. He has been on and off due to injuries. If he can achieve good fitness level and plays 20-30 tests for India without getting injured we will see lot of improvement. With improved fitness and good rhythm he can attain a speed of 140 kmph and more which is very good for a swing bowler.I think he may play next test as we are not sure that PK is fit enough.
