I just responded to a discussion which was placed about 3 years and above. Though I know the user haven't login here for as many years and may never going to login or never read my comment as well. But still I am happy and satisfied that I have discussed or answered to the subject matter. Now, even knowingly that the person who come with the topic is never going to see or read my discussion, I commented on it and feel good. Have you anyone ever felt that your words are not at all cared or read by anyone and still you feel to respond or comment and by doing so, have you got any kind of satisfaction. What do you feel to say? Thank-s

I have responded to older discussions when I feel I can add something useful and knowing that it comes back up to the recent discussion tab, gives me joy. Joy because if it is a discussion where now members will see and learn from it that for me is helpful. Don't be surprised though, because I have responded to 2 - 3 year old discussion and that prompted the discussion starter to login and comment back. Not common but it can happen.

It may be fun that whenever they come back they will definitely give responses to their old discussions. However, if we get a response after a long period of time also matter of pleasure. Like the same way, even I received a response nearly after one year the post I started at that period of time. Thanks for your comments. Thank-s

I've done this a lot. Whenever I've answered all the recent discussions I could find that pique my interest, I go back through the other interests. I would see discussions as old as 2 years, 3 years. It doesn't matter to me if the discussion is years old. If it's still there and there's opportunity to give a response, then I'll respond to it. I also like to check people's profile, see what discussions they've answered. If I see something of interest, I jump into the discussion. In case anyone's checking my profile, they would be able to see a discussion I've answered, and they too may be able to contribute.

Hi Apo, That is right, the interest is the 'hero' here. If we have the interest we don't mind to answer even if it posted many years ago. As long as the subject matter has the periodic relevance, it will reflect as new at any time. Thanks for your remarks. Thank-s

Yes....I have done that a few times...when someone isn't around or it's an old discussion. I still like to give my comments if the discussion interests me.

If a discussion interests you, it quite likely will interest others as well. When you answer to it, it comes back into "recent" discussions and gains an entirely new life.

Yes, that is true. Sometimes we feel to comment depend on the topic, even though it is a very old discussion topic. As GardenGerty said, there is the chance to reflect our comments in the 'recent' discussion and it may get notified. Thanks for your comments. Thank-s

Hey, you never know.. maybe if they get an email regarding your response.. it might prompt them to come back to mylot and start discussing.. again. or it might generate another to comment on the response you left and therefore you can start a new conversation.. I have responded to old discussions before as well. there is no harm in it.

Hi, It is alright. Some time they may get email alert, and if the did not opt for the 'e-mail alert' option, they won't get the mails also. However, those who left myLot for ever may not turn back or they never going to respond also. Still, there are people who wish to comment on the topic and that is the best part of it. I think the subject matter or topic has all the magic within it and it works nicely if the discussion is relevant. Thanks for your response. Thank-s

Yes, some time even I think so. May be after some time whenever they come in line with myLot, they will wonder that some of the people are still in touch with or still looking for them and wish to comment on their discussions. Thanks for you comments and feel happy to talk with you after a long time. Regards, Thank-s

Yes, I guess it does not matter how old the topic for discussion a member had started, as long as we have post comments that could add insights or relevant to the topic.Of course we aren't sure if the member who initiated it is still active. But for me it's still okay to post comments/response to a discussion especially if the topic can still be applied to the present situation.

Hi, Yes, you are so true! Even I feel the same, and as long as the topic has relevance the response will always get valued. I request you to 'please give a 'space' after every 'full stop' in a sentence. It will make more professional and convenient. I used to read most of your responses, though not commented back, since long time. Sometime I used feel who the person behind the comments and hope you will expose your real photo in your avatar, at least to see who he/she is and from where these nice words are coming from...... Best regards, Thank-s

I don't look at date of discussions whenever i respond to them. It doesn't matter to me how long that post has been around, for i'm still earning regardless of them responding back to me or not. IF the discussion is still alive, i would be glad, treat it like an axtra bonus for me. IF not, i will let it pass, and let it be a surprise should it appear in my inbox again.

Yes, in this way the matter ends up. As you said, if the person get some time to look into the matter, or he go through our words, it will be always nice to consider. But people who simply look on earning and taking part in discussion never think more on topic, they just want to take part. Thanks for your response. Thank-s

I feel well satisfied when I make a good response to a discussion, even an old one. I realize that although the original poster may not see it or comment back, others may, and the discussion and information is valid for other people as well as the original poster.

Yes, some people are like this. They never care on time or who he/she is. When giving importance to the topic/subject, what we are discussing is important. That is the main reason why there are still more people on myLot and the topics and subject are always alive. Though the topic come on screen 5 years back, when we comment on it, the same become today's topic and it is discussed as current affair for those who refer the same. Good thought and I think it should be in this way. Regards, Thank-s

Hi Thanks: I think your effort worth it even if the discussion starter never read it because, even with that you have to know that the discussions that are been placed here on Mylot are not only related to the one that ask it first. They are also our question and sure if this was a really interesting subject that attracted you even if it's been here for more than 3 years, there must be at least another person that will read your answer. Yes, above all, I still believe that the inspiration is mainly depend on the topic or subject matter. Sometimes, the person or time or any other boundaries make no influence on the topic. Also, at the same time, whenever we comment on something, if the querist read our response will always make fruitful and will result in some kind of satisfaction for both the parties as well as the people who go through our comments. Thank-s

Knowing the user will not come back is some consolation really but what about those active users who ignore our responses and/or comments which I feel is worse according to me. If I know a user has been inactive I will not attempt to respond to those topics although may be one can earn even though there would be no comments received.

Just like you, even I feel hurt when it happens. However, I got some remedial answer that we cannot expect that all are alike. People may or may not comment and one thing is sure that whatever happens, a minority group of people who take care of such things and they always mind to respond and discuss. Here lies the success of myLot and people like you and me are satisfied mainly depend on such people only. Those who value our integrity is the real friends here and they never stop to talk. Thank-s

I did that too, I think i responded to a very old discussion about painting and drawing, I really felt like responding because I felt what we contribute becomes beneficial not only to the discussion starter but would benefit all of us who would get to read it.

Hi, Yes,it is true. When it comes to the topic and especially which of our taste and interest, we will forget about the time and person, simply we will comment with our enthusiasm. This is the sign of an artist, he forgets everything, whenever he gets in hand what he is really looking for. I like the way you talk. Regards, Thank-s

Hi thanks! It actually doesn’t matter much to me as to how old a discussion already is as long as I have something to say. There were times that I still get a response and that’s very surprising but most of the time the one that started that discussion isn’t in myLot anymore. It still feels good because at least I was able to contribute my ideas and let it out.

Hi, That is true. Even I had such an experience. About 2 months back I got a comment which I was discussed when I joined in myLot. As you said, I feel so happy as well as active when I read her response. In fact such comments comes after a long period of time make us delighted as well. Only thing, if we are regular here, we could enjoy all such odd experiences. What you say? Thank-s

Yeah, and that's really one of the good things here at myLot. Even though we're all do not know each other personally, when one comments on a posted discussion which is about one's concern, you kind of feel like being helped out by one of your friends. In a way, the responses posted affect our thoughts and decisions, and allow us to think more of possible solutions to our problems. We also get to share our cultures and stuff, and thus make us feel connected all over the world. It's nice, isn't it?

Even though the discussion was started ages ago, I still respond to such if I am really interested or have something to say regarding the topic. Having expressed my opinions even though there is a lisght possibility of the topic starter reading it is still a nice thing to do. It brings out your ideas on a subject matter. Even by just expressing my thoughts is enough for me.

Yes, this is what I mean to say too. As long as the topic has relevance, we can take part into the discussion and come up with our comments. This is the reason way myLot has such a publicity and have a look of new at all times. Thanks for your comments. Thank-s

When I am responding to a discussion here in my-lot, I don't mind if the discussion was posted years ago or just a recent one. As long as I like the topic and lots of ideas came from my mind by just reading the subject of that particular discussion, I immediately respond to that. Also, I have this habit that I don't read the responses that was already posted on the discussion that I want to answer because if I read those, i might get some of their ideas or worst, I may copy the entire response and ruin the entire discussion. In addition, this may prevent the repetition of every response for that specific discussion. So I see t it that I only read the subject of every discussion that I am responding with. Happy my-lotting! *angel*

Hi, Thanks for your comments. That is the spirit. Regardless of time and who he is, if the subject matter is relevant, comment on it. That is the way all. I too think in such a way that if we have to say something on it, just talk and thereby we feel comfortable. Regards, Thank-s

Well, there are many times I have responded back on older discussions someone has started here never sure if anyone will even notice and take time to respond back to them. But that is OK. Sometimes it just feels good to take the time and respond back in a discussion here or two.

People will respond to discussions if they know they've been revived. It's been known to happen. I'll respond to some, not knowing at first that they're old discussions. I usually find them on the sidebar and they get me interested. I don't care how old they are, if I have reason to respond to them, I will.

Yes, it is somewhat we just talk to air. We know that the querist is no longer going to listen to it, but as an enthusiastic to the topic, we automatically jump on it. That is the spirit. Thank-s

Hi, Your thought is a straight forward one. Even initially, I took the same position and I have lamented on this topic earlier also. Some are so keen to come with topics and never comment back even if we say something. So, your word has power and if on a repeated basis they are ignoring, even I react the way how they are doing. Still, some time I will be light on the topic, if it has the power or catch. Thanks for your comments and hope will be again in contact. Thank-s

hello thanks, I did same thing long ago. I am bit bored and don't find any interesting topic to respond so I keep scanning for topic/s and stumbled on a long time one (old topic 5 years ago) I did checked the poster and found out that the user is not active ,still I respond to that topic because I want to write my opinion/express my view/s on that matter. I always respond to topic/s that I can relate with. have a good day jaiho®

This is one the best speciality or one of the feature of a true artist. Even though we know that the person come with the topic is never going to get back or read it ever, we will comment on it because we have to say something on it. This is one of the true nature of the artist and they never care what is the outcome, they want to be creative. That is what you did. Feel nice you. Thank-s

I used to be like that not caring if the person who started that discussion will ever reply back or not. But now for some reason i have changed. I do care now if that person reads it or not. I also don't like responding to discussions that have been started years ago because my respond may not hold true anymore or may not be applicable unless it's a general subject.
