Ok, I didn't know there was a difference between the two. I thoght it was the same thing. I still don't know what it the difference between the two it kind of taste the same to me. I have the two I my fridge and I eat the both it's not that big of a difference to me. Why do people make such a big deal between the two? I have been watching commercials and people talking about the two. Is it a difference for you?

Hi, AishaBR. They both are delicious mayonnaise. Regular mayo tastes great on sandwiches, vegetables, pizza and fries. Miracle Whip tastes more better on salads and pastas. Many people prefer any type of these mayonnaise on the food of their choosing. The taste is different, they both don't taste the same.

There's a big difference in the taste to me. I don't like Miracle Whip salad dressing, but I really like mayonnaise. Maybe it's because that's what I ate growing up, but mayonnaise makes a sandwich so much better, it seems.

I think miracle whip is also a mayonaise. If they're different then I don't know what the difference is. They both taste the same, they also look the same, and they even smell the same. Maybe it's difference between brands like Coke and Pepsi. These two beverages taste "almost" the same and they look the same.

While there is not a major difference some can tell the difference immediately. Me for example I can tell that Miracle Whip is both sweeter and more whipped, which indicates that it has quite a bit of the fat taken out during its production process. Mayonnaise on the other hand is slightly more bitter and haevier to the stomach because of the lard not whipped out of it.

I really didn't think there was too much of a difference between the two until I started having them on sandwiches and in other recipes more recently. Miracle Whip has a slightly sweeter taste to it. If you're in the mood for a little sweeter hint on your sandwich, this one is the way to go. Mayonnaise is not as sweet and has a slightly stronger taste to it. A good friend of mine can't stand mayo, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't mind Miracle Whip. Weird! Normally if you like or dislike one, it goes the same for the other. I did an "experiment" I guess you could say recently. I only had Miracle Whip, but I had a chip dip recipe that called for mayo. I mixed in the Miracle Whip like it made no difference, and the dip was disgusting! It was pretty sad because I was throwing a jewelry party and had all my friends over. I'd told them how amazing this chip dip recipe was and that they'd be able to try it, and it ended up being a flop. I'm one who normally follows a recipe very closely. Although subtle, there are differences between the two!
