Indian team have some nice players to be at the top but we don't have replacement for them when they are injured or when they want rest that's wat hit us in this test series....
We missed zaheer tnroughout the series and when shewag was called for third test there was too much pressure and expectation from him which negatively affected him.....
I think new youngsters must be given a chance so that when they get experience they can handle situation in the absence of their seniors....

It is true that we don't have a replacement of our senior players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid. It is not a much big problem for the youngstars of Indian team like Virat Kohli, Yusuf Pathan, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and others to manage in the limited over matches like ODIs and T-20s but in test matches in Australia, South Africa and now in England it seems they are not capable of handling it. In Indian soil they may manage one or two days but consistently performing is too difficult for them. The infrastructure is to blamed for this. Playing Ranji is just for getting selected in the national team but these days each and everyone now targets IPL and limited over matches i.e. score more runs in less balls. Hit from the very first ball and so on. They don't have the tendency to stay in the crease and carry on for more appetite for scoring runs. Plus these flat wickets (no bounce, no pace, no seam) no one are prepared for playing in these conditions so when they go to Australia, South Africa they get the treat like that only. They may play in the county but that is not enough. Indian pitches helps only the spinners so we don't get a true fast bowlers like Brett Lee, Shoaib Akhtar and so on. These players cannot become another Dravid or Laxman or a Tendulkar unless we change the infrastructure and these flat pitches.

I know, Sachin, VVS and Rahul are the production of the same infrastructure but the difference is there were no IPL or T 20 then. Playing Test matches were 1st priority to all the players. That's why we got Sunil Gavaskar and other players too. These days apart from Sehwag, Gambhir I don't think other players are capable of performing good consistently in test matches, where defend and patience is the key to success. But these players know to score quick runs only and don't have the tendency to stay for longer periods. India never lacked talents that's why there are so many good players in our country. Problem with other things such as BCCI's greed, no future planning for kids of India, no proper guidances and so on. Money is the only thing these days for cricket. Then comes fame. How can we get another genuine test player ?

Yes when VVS, SACHIN, DRAVID started cricket there were no ipl and t20s and the focus was on test cricket but today t20 and one-day has became crouds favorate and these formats are in great demand as they entertain people.....
But the base of cricket is playing test matches where patience is the key. Apart from Shewag and Gambhir Dhoni has also got lots of patience but he is not performing now a days, Also kohli loves to play cricket irrespective of cricket conditions but i am not sure weather he can perform in this format of the game....
Yes there is a requirement of typical test players and BCCI is not at all focussing on recruiting new players in Indian team....
I am not sure that how can BCCI find such players in this period of cricket but this also depends on the nature of cricketers how they handle situation....

No, we got laxman and tendulkar from this infrastructure only...they got talent and passion to play cricket which took them abroad and made them learn better cricket which could be played in tough conditions....
Dravid learned his part of cricket in england, Yes but i agree that all players cannot be dravid or laxman or tendulkar. Bcci must think on making bouncy pitches in India so players can learn how to play in conditions of south africa, australia, england and so on....
We have also got players like raina kohli yuvraj gambhir dnoni who got lots of passion for cricket just they must be guided properly by BCCI....
The big problem is a genuien pace bowler to be found by our selecters. We badly need a genuien pace bowler to support zaheer in bowling line-up...

I think so we need a bowler with pace about 140kmph and also swing along with zaheer khan they both can create panic in oppositions batting line-up....
also we need batters who can bat well on bouncy pitches.....

sachin dravid laxman are on the verge of retirement and we need to find players who can replace them otherwise we might just not out stand the longest format of the game...
I also agree that ipl will not help to find typical players like dravid but ues it will be able to find players like shewag to play in short format of the game....
Also when it comes to money factor ipl is controlled by private sector so obviously players will be paid high in ipl than in country to country cricket but every player will have that passion to play for the country....

Indeed ,Indian team would be better served if players other than Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Sachin, Rahul Dravid and V.V.S.Laxman too step up for serious challenges like the one in the recent England series.

And sometimes too much pressure on Indian team and the weight of expectations is counter-productive. I hope India does well in One day Internationals against England.

Every player in the world will haave its ups and down times any player cannot perform in all the matches he plays.....
So in such condition we need some backup to be at no. 1 position....
In past one and a half year these players played well and ruled the world but now time has started to change and we need a rising star in our team....

Well yes we don't have very good fast bowler who is consistent like Zaheer and we need one soon to replace Zaheer and even Indian spinners are not bowling well
As far batting is considered it is good for Subcontinental pitches but If India travels abroad to contries like Australia, England, South Africa they will really struggle if Sachin , Dravid VVS, Shewag doesn't perform

Bouncy pitches is the main weak point of indian batting line up and this has to be re-thought by bcci to make some bouncy pitches in india....
Also we will need a leading fast bowler in next and a nice spinner as zaheer khan himself is not sufficient and harbhajan is not performing well....
As far as batting is concernd Indian team has quality batsmen but they need to practice on bouncy pitches.....
