Why Filipinas love to marry foreigners?

where do you see all these women with foreign men? I'm single. I'm looking for a good woman. I don't care about race, color, creed, religion. I would just like to meet someone that I get along with. I'm kidding. Look here in the US I don't think it matters where you are from only who you are...

Generally, people might say it is all for the money. But I had a number of friends who married foreigners not because of money, but because of love. So we cannot really say just one reason, we can list a thousand of them.

i do not think that filipinas in general would like to marry foreigners, particularly white men. i think what you saw is uncommon. well, there is an assumption that white men are rich, and so the japanese and korean men. i would not pass judgement but it is widely recognized that many marriages of this kind are primarily driven by economic benefits for our women. but i saw successful and happy marriages with this kind. and i am happy for them.

I have two close friends from college who are married foreigners. The first one is a nurse and has been working in the U.S. for several years and she met her husband there. I know they really love each other because my friend finally settled after 37 years. The second friend of mine who kept in touch with me through FB told me that she married a foreigner just last year through Yahoo personals. She wanted to marry a foreigner since she was disappointed with her Filipino boyfriend and she wanted to have a mestizo-looking baby. There are several reasons why a Filipina would want to marry a foreigner. Some want foreigners for a husband so that they will have money to support their family. Whatever their reasons are, I just hope that they will be happy and be able to adjust the cultural differences. Filipinas are very loving and caring, and foreigners are lucky to have one as their wife.

Hi mmespino. It's too bad that the general assumption of why Filipinas marry foreigners is for economic stability. Which is almost true in several occasions. I've noticed, us Filipinos, due to having been born in a poverty ridden country resort the best practical decision we could grasp upon. Convenience is also one of the key attributing factors.

It is not true. you just notice it because they look different. In reality, there are more Filipinas who have a Filipino husband, but since you are used to seeing them everyday, you don't get to notice it anymore. The truth is, things get magnified if we feel it is different. Like an airplane at night when the sky is full of stars. You get to notice the airplane rather than the starts because the airplane is the only one moving. I don't like to marry foreigners as well, but hey, if time comes that I was actually destined to have one, why not, right?

This is just my opinion... It could be true love that people would want to marry partners that are of a different nationality or have different cultures. But sometimes, there are those that marry because of convenience. I don't want to pass judgment, though. But that's how I see it.

Like moonchild I also think a lot of Filipinas marry foreigners to get out of poverty[ and who can blame them?] I have met such women...and some are my friends I only have to say they are honest hard working women, they care about the home and children[ actually my ex husband married a Filipina] they have 2 children and they always keep in touch...if my ex is sick she calls to let as know she is a fine woman I admire her because to put up with my ex is not easy task! that is one side of the coin...the other side is some Filipinas do not have it that easy they get abused by their foreigners husbands and have to work when their husband stay at home doing nothing it makes my blood boil when I hear of such cases...luckily here in Australia we have a good social security system that protect women living in such environment.

Hello mmespino, SImple, because they WANT TO GET OUT OF THAT POVERTY that they are living right now. some even want to marry them because they are hand some and some believed it's a good status symbol in marrying the one that you like, who are pretty, or handsome with good careers and with lot and lots of money can be inherited to them in the future. soome wanted to marry foreigners to start over and get out of that situation in our country.have a nice day

With whom some like to marry is a matter of choice. It is not possible for us to guess the reasons for marry of phlipins with foreigners. Filipins know it better.

Hello Mmespino. I think the reason because a lot of Filipinas get married with foreigners is because the foreigners feel very attacted to them. I know a lot of Filipines that are married with foreigners and what I can see is that those men know how to treat the woman and they feel lovely,and beautiful. And I think the Filipins characteristics are very similars one to the other black straight hair, eyes like asiatic, beautiful shape body,and they are famous because are good wives and mothers so the men go and try to get their attention with love and they fall in love.

That would depend on the person. Most Filipinas marry foreigners because of simply love. I think one reason why foreigners love to marry Filipinas in return is because Filipinas are sweet and loving in nature. Another reason might be Filipinos and Filipinas can adjust easily to the environment and culture. Just a note on the part where you posted "I find many Filipinas are with foreign partners", I'm quite sure not all of them are married :P If you know wha i mean :D But going back to your subject, personally, I don't mind marrying a foreigner. I'm the type of person who would love to learn new culture. As they say, the world is an ever changing place so people will really need to adjust :D

Maybe before the reason is purely economic, a one way ticket to a much richer country, especially as most of the foreign guys are a lot older. But right now, you can see a lot more younger, more handsome and professional looking foreigners married to a Filipina. So i guess its more of finding a lifetime partner in sickness and in health which they often see among their friends who married a Filipina. Foreigners are also a lot more accepting of women despite being single moms, no longer a virgin and even separated women. Some Filipino men are still old fashioned when it comes to the women they marry.

Filipinas are very attractive to foreigners. They are charming, sweet and caring. I think those are the reasons why most foreigners love Filipinas over any other nationalities. But there are also some Filipinas who are looking for foreigners because of money. They think that these foreigners could give them comfort in life. Let's face it, that's reality. Happy day!

no offense meant, but i think women who would really opt for foreigners often think that other races are better in terms of financial capability. you would not agree but i seriaously think that most filipina women are inclined to thinking that foreigners are rich, or at least able to provide more than the filipinos here.

I noticed so many mix cultural marriages now adays, Filipinos are no exemption, some Pinays are finding love mates in foreign lands for several reasons. I heard so many testimonies among Pinays who married foreigners, some of them said, they want to travel abroad and in order to make it easier they marry a foreigner, others said they are compelled to search for a mate in the net because Filipino guys are so choosy and meticulous that waiting for your chances to be noticed sometimes is a remote possibility, foreigners are not really that particular compared to Pinoys.

For me I think to have a better life.Since Foreigners who are mostly retirees(not all)prefer to marry Filipinas because our women are dependable and industrious.There are some who are not so lucky though but I have seen some who are really happy with their relationship.

It's not generally the case with Filipinas. It just so happened that they fell in love with foreigners . Some may have met them thru the internet , some through friends and some , because of relatives who are married to foreigners. One thing i notice though, are those very ordinary Filipinas who have foreigners are their husbands. Could it have been "para mapaganda ang lahi?"

I am a Filipina too, and I am married with a foreigner. I also did not dream of marrying one. But when love comes, you just can't let it pass. There are different reasons behind every Filipina marrying a foreigner. When I married one, everybody seem to look at me as if I was marrying for convenience, some say for money, and all that... Maybe other girls have that for a reason, but we have to consider too that some just fall in love, like I did.

I think this phenomenon may happen in other coutries that are not rich enough. First foreign men may have more money. Second foreign men are better than men of in their own countries. Because foreigns are more civilized and well educated. Women in order to pursue good life will choose to marry foreigners. Other women will envy them if they marry a lond hair, blue eye man.
