When kids ask for things and it's all just delivered for them, they never get the chance to really appreciate the significance of money or even where it comes from. They must appreciate that work is required to have money and, if one is cautious with it, it will be there when it's needed. This aids not just in creation of wealth later but also in averting of debt.
Kids are habituated to getting cash from parents. They're also familiar to seeing adults just walk to an ATM and get cash from a machine. They don't essentially see the work as well as the preparation that has to go into having funds available.

I agree with you a lot of kids don't understand or really appreciate how many acquired. A lot of them just think about that they want something and should be able to get. I feel it's important to teach our children that money doesn't grow on trees. And it actually has to be acquired we have to work hard to earn, and so they have work hard to earn an allowance to get things. I don't think it's a good idea to just always give our kids things then they don't appreciate it.

it's kinda acceptable for little kids to react negatively to this practice. but if this is taught to teens, it's kinda hurting to us especially that they do not show respect and unappreciative.

It's really good to teach kids how to save money.
My youngest son knows how to do that.
He always saves some from his daily allowance and when he had enough money,he buy his own things...he even bought few shirts and his long time dream slipper that costs a big costly.
Have a good day

As early as now, I am teaching my kids to save money. I also inform them and keep reminding them of our financial status so that as early as now, they will be aware that life is not easy. For them to know that they need to work and be thrifty with their money. At least, now that they are aware of our situation, they know when to buy or not to buy things and I'm very much happy to that.
