I really love my Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop (I did a custom build). Although, the one I got a year ago was well over what you have to spend. However, I just got my son a used Dell Inspiron on Ebay and paid around $400.00. I don't know if you would want a used one or not though. My son's has been working great and I hope it contiues that way.

In my country the top one is Toshiba and second Acer. I bought the second one because cheaper but good quality.
Its better choose dual core now its more faster for the proccesor

It has been proven many times that IBM is the best. Unfortunatly it's also the one with the worst design and the highest price. Compaq / HP is a great computer IMO as well. Whatever you do DO NOT get a dell, they are the worst pieces of crap known to man. I'm not just throwing this out there I got a degree in advanced computer science, and believe me IT professionals does not like dell. Wonder why :-D

I have a Dell Laptop as do most of my friends. We recently purchased a dell desktop for my mother for christmas. We got a 1200 dollar computer for $370 through Dell Outlet. You can get to the site at http://www.dell.com/content/segmenter.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dfo. The Dell Outlet sells refurbished as well as computers that have never been used. You should check it out.
