you can try this: have a hot shower to make body relax before sleep then listen to the mandarin music which is with a low sound when laying in bed. please keep in mind: never think about dorm stuff just relax. hope it will help you .

Hi emily75, I was living in dormitory before and I suffered from insomnia in my 1st month of staying in the dorm, I think its happened because I was thinking too much and missing my hometown, my family, my bedroom. I had to get up at 5am, so i tried so hard to fight my insomnia because if i given up to my insomnia I would had a tiring day. You need to relaxed your mind, do not thinking too much and try to counting down from 100, drink warm milk because I heard milk can help to make you relax, listen to soft music perhaps you can try classic music or instrumental music, you can take warm shower before bedtime. I hope it can help you.
