I think nowadays, having a chatmate is better. Why did I say so? It's because I think chatting is instant. If you want to say something to each other, you can just go online and say it to that person. You can say what you want to say at once and you can also have the response at once. Maybe others might be rude but maybe you have to choose one whom you think is a good person. You might not know that person yet but maybe, you can also feel if he or she is sincere or not. You can feel it in the choices of words that he or she is using. Maybe, just be friendly. There's nothing wrong with having a chatmate if you know your limitations. If you know that you are still being respected by the one you are talking with. If not, just decide whether you will still continue being friends with that person.I also think that having a chatmate is more convenient. You will not wait for how many days for a letter to come into your home. Though receiving a letter is also sweet, because you can see the penmanship of the person writing you, there are also some sweet things that you can feel when you are chatting. Maybe your chatmate might send you a music video of a nice song. He or she could send you some emoticons that could make you laugh or smile in an instant. You can even request him or her to show his or her face and you can see the reactions while you are talking to each other. I think having a chatmate is also inspiring. Even only seeing the person's name online could make you smile. It could make your heart beat faster. It could turn your day into a HAPPY one. It depends upon the person that you are talking to if he or she is a liar. Maybe even some pen pals could be liars. but when you are chatting, you can sense it by means of observing the flow of your conversation. I think nowadays, only some are hooked up in having pen pals. The "in" thing today is chatting using the internet. You can easily reach out with your chatmate, simply by opening your computer, typing your messages, and sending them. Easier and better, isn't it?

I don't have good and happy experienced with chatroom, too. Because most of them prefer fun to really interested making long term friendship with you. Most of them usually use chatroom to promote their products. There seems everyone just visit there for fun. I still prefer my olden days pen-pals. In fact, some of my pen-pals had become my good friends after we had been sharing lots of interesting news together for many years. I am happy that i had came across many nice and interesting friends from around the world. Now, we usually use emails to exchange news.

I think that each one will have a different preference. Some prefer using the Internet. Others prefer writing letters. I think that it really depends on what you prefer. Personally, I don't really have a preference. I like both.

Well if you want a friend who writes better and expresses themselve better go for the penpal; they are fun anyway too. I love Mylot for this reason; there are those out here that REALLY do care and show it in their responses and those who don't and are here only for the money.
