I am a new guy in mylot. Nice to meet you, myloters.
I start a new discussion one day ago. And the topic is about the new coach of the Chinese football team. But I receive no response.
I want to know how to choose the topic and how to get more responses.
Thanks. Have a good day.

Hello onewaydream,
I just checked your profile you have only 1 friend here on MYLOT make more friends here by sending them friend's request so that they may get notification of your discussions and respond to it.Its not that nobody wants to respond to your discussion.
Try to make your disucssion interesting so that more & more people take part in your disussion. To have fun you can also participate in others discussion.

Hi sjvg1976. Thanks.
In the later discussion, I will involve in mylot, make more friends. Maybe it will raise popularity by the way. But I just worry someone answers just for answering because I am his friend. It is not very well.
It is very difficult to find a more interesting topic. Later I will start more discussions and sum up some ways to choose a interesting topic.
Thank you again. Have fun, too.

I see people have told you to request more friends. On top of that, you need to realize that only people who know about your topic will be responding. I do not know anything about China, or Chinese football. I responded here because this was under the tab "top discussions" and I understand how it feels to be new and have no responses. I know that if you add more friends you may find more people familiar with China and Chinese football.

There is no success recipe when talking about getting answers to your topics
I know is frustrating to get the trouble to find a interesting idea to write about and then nobody to care about ...
But is not your fault and it concern you just as topic starter, but have no influence on your income here.
You get paid for your answers and comments (+ few little others but those are main), so start discussions only if there is nothing else to do and specially, only after you have manage to have been accepted as friends by many many. Why? simple: when you start a discussion, all your "mylot friends" receive a notification, which make possible they will check and maybe answer.
But again: to earn money, answer and comment. Be not short, be detailed, avoid 1-2 line answers, be active, be inteersting in your answers ..and all will be great

Thank you very much.
I have learned English for years. And I always do it for passing some exams. I don't know how to communicate in English, and can't use the words in the daily life. It is very bad.
Some days ago, in a BBS, I knew the mylot.com. I think it is a good group, many people start their discussions and then many people give their own viewpoints, maybe they concern the topic or maybe just know the answer. Most of them have an open attitude to communicate. Maybe I can learn more from the discussion.
Thanks again. And thank all the myloters!

Welcome to myLot onewaydream!
I do not recall seeing your discussion but at any rate I would not be able to respond to it as I have no absolute knowledge about Chinese Football. That is not to say that many others don't as there are times that members are not around at the time certain topics are posted. It is never too late to respond to discussions, therefore, do not loose hope that someone and or several my just do so.
One important thing to remember is that when you do start discussions that you comment back to the members. If earnings is a concern to you, know that you do not earn for the responses received. You only earn for what you type and the responders earn for what they type.
What is important with this, is that with time if you continually respond in your discussions many will always be eager to continually respond to your discussions. Many members at times will research information to place helpful information into your discussions. If you do not show any type of acknowledgement by commenting back they will not even know if you are reading their efforts. Also while being new you can probably benefit at first by responding to others discussions, this way when you do start your own many will remember your quality activity and always respond to you discussions.
Hope all this helps and see you around the Lot!

Thank you for your help.
You give me some good advises. Maybe it is very useful in the later discussions.
Interaction is very important in the discussion and I should continually comment back to the response. I will read the response carefully and comment back as quickly as possible.
Have fun. Thanks again.

Don't worry. But you have to know that Chinese football is not everybody's cup of tea. Everybody got hobbies and different things they like and maybe at the moment there was nobody being interested with Chinese football. Don't worry about it. Keep trying. MyLot is wonderful website with wise and intelligent people. You should not feel disappointed. I wish you all the best.

Thank you very much!
Maybe I just concern about what I like or what I am interested in. In the discussion, I should consider what the myloters are interested in. So in the later, I will notice it.
MyLot is a good plateform where all the people are open to discussion. Everyone may learn some knowledge in it. And we can share the viewpoints and make friends. In a word, we can get what you want.
Thank you again.

Hi there. One way of earning numbers of response is by creating a topic that majority of us here have an idea about the topic that you posted. Maybe the reason why you receive no response to that particular topic is that members here in mylot do not have an idea of that topic.
I will also give you a tip on how you can encourage members here to response to your discussion: Try to make a subject that can easily catch the eye of members so that they will be curious on what is your discussion all about. In my experience, I am starting my discussion with a question. Not a yes or no question, but a question that needs an explanation and further elaboration. Try new exciting ways on how you can post quality discussions. Doing this will not only give you a chance of receiving numbers of responses, but also you can earn more.. Have a great day and welcome to my-lot!

Maybe catching the eye of members is very important. Thank you.
But I want to choose a topic that I concern about. Or the topic is a problem I want to get the answer. Or I want to share my opinions by discussing. The most important is that I can gaining some useful information.
Maybe I should think about the way of expressing. That is very important.
Have fun. Have a good day.

Welcome! I have been a member for about a year but haven't really been on myLot. I came back just for the fun of it. I started a discussion on a topic I knew about and received many responses, of which I replied to each one. I would suggest to start a discussion on a topic that many people may have in common. You could write a story about an experience, ask a question, or write about something you heard or read about. It may take time, but read through the different interests and discussions and add a response. Invite friends. Though many may not know "about the new coach of the Chinese football team", you may find that you have a lot in common with people in other areas. I hope this will help.

I'm sure your Chinese football team was discussed in the newspapers and television in your country. Perhaps there was nothing else to say by the Chinese community.
There are a lot of Chinese members, so you want to find interesting topics that aren't already published in the media.
Better still, try to involve the rest of us! The whole world is here on mylot

Dear friend, the answers probably depend heavily on the discussion topic.
Even it happened to me to write threads and not receiving a response.

It would seem that meta tags would be a help in getting people to notice and respond to your postings...I suggest you look around and see what types of topics get the most responses, gain a few friends and go from there. Gaining a few best responses can't be a bad thing either, it makes people want to see what you have to say about topics that interest them. Just a few thoughts.
