The school

He is 13 is going to be his first school year in this country (US)and first school year in another language, because our first language is Spanish,his grade is 8th.Thanks for your help I will appreciate it.

As I'm quite young myself I will try to relate to him... Going to school in another language isn't easy, but it's managable... First of all, it's nice to have a good 'study enviroment'. A place quite enough to work. Boys that age aren't so fond of studying and will do everything to avoid it.. I recommend making an agreement with him.. Let's say he studies 1 hour after returning from school and than he can do what he wants to. Also, don't punish for bad grades, reward him for good grades, that will motivate him. You don't even have to pay for a reward, it's always nice to hear from your parents that you did a good job and that they're happy knowing you're doing well, etc. I hope it helps a bit, it's all standard information, nothing professional or anything.
