last week i downloaded gomez peer onto my computer

and now i occasionally get random voices coming out of it. are these two events connected, or am i just hearing voices? has anyone else experienced this?

I am always sceptical of such software that work in the background and get to use your computers resources because I am afraid they will slow the computer down. They could also infect it with viruses and such. I therefore avoid downloading them or installing them on my computer. You could try to uninstall it from your computer for a few few hours and then observe it for any noises coming out of it. If no noise then it must be from it. Alternatively someone may have had the same experience and would share it here.

i'm not as kind to my computer as you are to yours 2wicelot, i mistreat it in many ways. so i thought i would try gomez peer. on their website they say that there is no risk of any viruses or anything, and it makes sense, as they are just, effectively, borrowing a bit of my computing space. and they use it to go to websites to test them. i quite like it actually, i like watching all the numbers change, its quite hypnotic.
