Reading some of the discussions here in mylot i realized that i have so many things to be thankful in life though mine is far beyond perfect. Though i have problems here and there, now and then, those are not the worst in the world and some people's problem are much worse than mine. I need to be thankful that i'm not begging for food on the street, my son is going to a good school and is being properly educated with the best there is, he's wearing nice clothes, enjoying great toys and i have a husband whom i can hug every night to keep me warm and safe. I own a house, be comfortable and i'm earning money enough for our daily needs or sometimes even more. I enjoy driving a nice car without worrying i'll run out of gas. And my gosh, so much more! So what's there to complain about? Practically nothing! Now i just have to be thankful to God and appreciate everything He has given me.

I love when I have days like that! When I’m so thankful for everything I have! I have a wonderful partner who idolizes me and worships the ground I walk on, and is amazed she was even lucky enough to have me.. even my parents say about the way she looks at me is just pure inlove. I have 2 beautiful wee dogs and a big fat cat. My own home, a great job, wonderful parents, a sister who is my best friend, and I am really close to my partners family, and I’m even lucky enough to call her sister, one of my best friends. I have enough money, nearly always, for my daily needs. Fair enough we can’t go on holiday, and I can’t afford a car yet, but I’ll get there eventually! I’m only 24, and I’ve only been in this job four years, and I’m still trying to get myself on my feet with money and savings etc, but I’ve years yet to get there :) One thing I hate though, is when you have a day when you feel like you have loads of problems, and people start saying things like that to you, oh be thankful, and your lucky you have a roof over your head and be grateful someone loves you and all that.. because yes fair enough my problems may not seem that big and bad, but they are mine! Lol.. but I’m sure you feel like that sometimes too!

I hate when i'm feeling down and somebody would say the same thing too. It's just during those times that i want to say get the hell away from me! Later on i will realized that that person has a point but please don't say it to my face and rub it in, because i'm just so down i won't be able to appreciate those. But now i'm just trying to change my behavior and just be thankful for all those even if it's a problem i'd welcome it. That's how i become stronger! I'm happy to hear about our situation!

Can we have a golden lining instead of a silver?

I think everyone in the world has problems, that to them, are the biggest problems in the world, because just because I’m not homeless, doesn’t mean that theres not a huge problem with my house! And just because I’m in a happy relationship and not single, doesn’t mean maybe my partner hasn’t really annoyed me! Know what I mean? I think everyone is able to be thankful for something, just as everyone is allowed to get down because of their problems! .. and everything happens for a reason anyway, so there will always be a silver lining, eventually lol!

Yeah, I'm glad because you're happy in life and that you are thankful to God. Have you read the story about Jose on the Bible and how he interpreted the Pharaoh's dream?

Yes he wasn't the dreamer. But that was the title of the play based on the bible. BEcause he dreamed and he interpreted his own dream and that started everything.

Yeah, I think so. But Joseph wasn't the dreamer. Actually he interpreted dreams from other people.

Hi Toni! You have enough of God's blessings and God has showered you with all necessary and important comforts in life. I think we all should always feel thankful to God for every comfort and every little blessing, which come over way. You are very lucky and I wish that God be always kind enough to give you more and more comforts. I also feel that am lucky and have a good job and a happy family with all the comforts in life.

Yes we should all feel lucky and be content of what we have be it less or more. God knows everything as He has wisdom beyond what we can imagine. He can give and take away anytime he wants. So i'm trying to be good and be grateful and praying that God won't take away what He has given.

Very well said, it is always God's will to shower us with blessings and He can always take back our comforts. I am sure God will never take away whatever He has already given to you.

It is true. But human is human. It's their nature not to be satisfied and when one has a problem they think it's the biggest in the world. Incomparable and the worst. But it's wrong.

I also try to remember and be thankful for all the gifts that I have been given in life ... a family, health (at least most of the time), a house, wonderful experiences and a lot of love. When things are going well it is important to remember these things, but it is even more important to remember them when things seem overwhelming and like nothing is going right. I am glad that you are able to appreciate what you have and be thankful for it.

It is good to appreciate all the good things in our lives, but it is also alright to complain sometimes as well. We can't be happy and satisfied all the time. What might be small problems in our lives compared to what is going on in other people's lives can still cause us stress and worry, so complaining and talking about it might help us put it into perspective or come up with a solution. Also, people deal with things differently, so someone else might think that our "small problems" are more serious issues.

Yeah right. We can not blame anyone if we have problems. I believed that God never moves without purpose and plan, so in every problem I just considered it us one way of learning a lesson and improving myself. Trials and problems make us strong and get more closer to God.

It's the tendency of a depressed person to blame others or even God whenever they are in a very oppressive situation. I have come to understood life in different situations and now that i have my own family, encountered problems that i thought was the worst in the world, i learned from them. And mylot members have taught me many things indirectly through their discussions.

I agree that we can't really complain. though, sometimes we do have some shortcomings most specially when we are tired. but in all honesty we have already thiings that they don't have. as for me, i have my own short comings that i tend to be emotional sometimes but we are lucky to have what we have now.

Yes it's true. I see my problems now as just a means of getting myself stronger and become a better person.

You are truly blessed toni. We should thankful of what God has entrusted to us, money, job, children, etc. I feel so blessed to, though i don't have some of the things that you had but i feel so blessed because all of my needs and some of my wants are granted. (maybe others are not granted because i deserve even more in the right time). Now i'm grateful for the things i have, and thankful for the things to come.
