Mouse Preference: Retractable, Wireless or Wired

I've already tried using wireless, wired and retractable mouses over the past. But I've always stuck to a retractable mouse where the usb retracts to the inside of the mouse. Some people prefer wireless but I think the problem with wireless mice is the consumption of batteries. I know mouse power consumption is miniscule but what if you're in the middle of a trip and you forgot your battery charger (and to make things worst, you're gamer. Will the touch pad suffice?) Wired mouses are not versatile and the excess cord drives me crazy as I'm a neat freak most of the time. I use a tie wire to secure that excess wire but sometimes the mouse doesn't respond well. Maybe it's because it's tail is all knotted up. I'm a big fan of retractables but only the type where the usb gets pulled fully inside the mouse. But sometimes the problem with these babies are their proneness to wire breakage on the tip of the mouse or the USB. What's your mouse preference?

I chose wired. Because you don't have to worry about batteries or anything ,also they last more then wireless. Once I lost my wireless mouse some where and could not find it lucky I had a wired one available.

Don't you like retractables? Are they really far more expensive than the regular wired ones?

When I had a desktop computer, I would've killed to have had a wireless mouse, or wireless keyboard. But, I was stuck with wired because that's all that existed. Retractables and wireless mice didn't exist then. Windows 95 was the hot new thing, and computers required some form of tower. Floppy disks were the only "portable" source for information, and everything was new. Technology has advanced since then big time. I use a laptop, and the bulit-in touch pad works fine for what I need it for. I don't use the mouse all that much seeing as how I use a screen reader and most of the time it's not needed. And, I find touch pads work just fine. I can understand how they can annoy most people, but if you don't use it a lot then using it a little bit works just fine. Truth be told, my keyboard gets a lot more abuse then my mouse does.

Seriously? I've used 95 as well, but my computer-addicted-life was born in the era of Windows 98. I remember Floppy disks and I've also had those thinner floppy drives. I was so happy when I got my first usb which was a 128mb thumb drive. The times have changed greatly after the introduction of the internet, hasn't it? My patience runs out when I don't have a mouse. I'm an RPG gamer and I use Photoshop once in a while so I really can't live without a mouse. And since I used to travel everyday to work, it was always a good thing that I didn't need to tie the wires every time I'm about to come home.

I haven't heard of that brand yet. Wired is far cheaper. I think 3 to 4 times cheaper than retractable ones and 5 times cheaper than wireless ones. At least you wouldn't have to worry about the cost of another if ever you it gets disfunctional.

I used to use the wireless mouses a lot of the time but the batteries just started costing a bit too much for my liking. Plus there were times where it didn't work that well. Not enough for it to be a problem but at the same time, just enough for it to drive me kind of around the bend to say the very least. I think it really is all down to the mouse. I like the wired mouse for what it was and have had mine for about two years with no major issues. I think actually they have improved on the wired mouse as opposed to previously years. Have not really used a retractable mouse, so I really cannot say much either way whether I'm for or against that.

I prefer a wired mouse more than any other. A wired mouse gives me that feeling of stability when I try to perform tasks on my computer. I don't have to worry about the batteries running out or accidents that may happen while I'm doing some things.

I have never seen a wireless mouse and would like to see one. I have used only wired mouse and is comfortable with it. I think wireless mouse I might use it to shut down the computer when I am in distances. I think if you put the wires in suitable way the mouse wires does stay neat and tidy.
