Have you tried to bake using a microwave oven before?

Hello there, I've already researched about baking using a microwave oven, There are good results and there are bad too but I just want to hear from your own experiences(if you ever tried). How did it turned out? was it a success or not? We have a microwave oven but it's not being used for a long period of time because all we know is how to pre-heat foods using it...

I bake cupcakes and muffins in my pizza oven a slide out drawer on my microwave. They aren't as good this way, but the house doesn't heat up like using the oven.

Yes, i ever use microwave oven to bake some cakes. Some of them turned out fine and smooth, delicious to eat. But there are some of them which turned out hard and dry. I think what matters the most is the timing. We need to know what kind of recipe need how long timing to bake it. Over bake them will caused the cake burn, too hard and dry.

I rarely use the microwave for anything. Is that old-fashioned of me?

I haven't tried to use the microwave oven for baking, but since you've mentioned that there are good results by using this item in baking I will give it a try. Wish me luck!

Baking does not work with Microwave. You need a Grill for this.

Maybe there are some that works because I run across some recipes about it. Maybe if we follow the recipe to a tee then it will work

I've honestly never baked in a microwave really. There are those lil desert cups you can microwave/bake but that's about it and it's very rare I buy those things. I do use the microwave for plenty of other cooking though....

I think it is possible to bake using microwave because I've seen many recipes about it. Maybe it will take a lot of practice, but for now I don't have the guts

I don't use the microwave for baking after my first attempt failed miserably! I tried to cook a chicken. It shrank in size, was very dry, and it took as long to cook as in an ordinary oven. Better to use it only for reheating food!

Yeah, it can be very disappointing when you failed on a first attempt but you know what I believe in the saying "try and try until you succeed" Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience

I have made several cakes in the microwave, the most successful baking I do in it is for desserts. Steamed sponge puddings and suet puddings like jam roly poly cook really quickly and successfully in the microwave. You tend to need to experiment a little with your own microwave for timings etc, but it is certainly very handy if you need to make a quick pudding!

hi wheng The only thing I will bake in the oven are potatoes, lol This I can guarantee will come out good. I like that they do get soft in such a shorter time then putting them in the oven. But as for anything else, I have not been successful because they come out hard, dry and yucky. lol

Hello HWG As for me, I use it for re-heating foods and popping popcorns only other than that I never tried anything else too It's sad to see our oven just sitting there in one corner of our kitchen. It's not been used for a long time that's why an idea popped into my mind if I can bake using it. Surely with all the inputs I can get in here will help me a lot

just like you wheng, i have never tried using the microwave for other purpose except to heat left-overs and foods. Actually, i don't know how to bake also. Long time ago, i tried to bake twice, but they are a failure, so i never tried anymore. No one uses the oven in our range at home, ever!

We also have a range but since it was submerged in flood water during the ondoy, we never tested the oven yet...but before I had many attempts in baking but not so successful too.

Yeah, I think it's a little bit risky but maybe with proper techniques then maybe we can come up with a good dish...actually, I've already collected a number of recipes but I never dared to try it yet.
