A long time friend of mine had surgery on her knee about a week ago. Hopefully this will be the last surgery for a long time! Unfortunately, in order to fix the problem, she is not allowed to walk for 10 weeks!!! That is a really long time!!! On Monday she posted to facebook that she needed a pedicure. Since she isnt allowed to go anywhere, she asked if anyone would volunteer to give her one. I jumped at the opportunity! She has always been a fantastic friend and I would do anything for her. I think she is expecting only to have her nails painted. But I got together all of my pedicure supplies. The cuticle trimmers, the exfoliater, the PedEgg (love that thing!) and a couple choices of nailpolish color!! I can't wait to see her face when she realizes that she is being treated to the works!! When I am there, I think I will have to "book" her for a next "appointment" so that her toes can be beautiful when she does go back to work in a couple of months!!! Have you ever helped a friend after surgery? What do you do to help cheer up your friends? Would you ever give a friend a pedicure?

I have helped out a cousin after surgery. She wasnt feeling well and it was a surgery to her stomach and she just couldnt walk or even get up out of bed it was so bad. She has three kids and i know i would pick one up from school and the other two are twins so she had someone else get them but i believe alot of people were on her side to help her out then anything. Three kids isnt easy and your husband being a doctor doesnt help to much. I know i cooked dinner and got there stuff ready for the next day of school and im sure i would try to give her a pedicure but i think bringing her to a place might of been the easier way out of that one because im not the best painter LOL and it might have been all over. Im glad to see other helping others in need in special times. Its great to know there are other out there helping friends and families. Have a fun time and goodluck.

Not being able to get out of bed after surgery is definitely tough!! I have been lucky in life so far that I have never needed surgery!! I can't imagine being in your cousin's situation with 3 kids and not even being able to take care of yourself! I'm sure she was thankful to have you and others helping her out! I am taking some of my own older towels with me. So that way even if I make a little mess, it doesnt matter! It will only be on the towels that don't matter!! I really believe that if everyone would help out other people without expecting anything back in return, this world would be a lot better place to live in! It would mean if you ever needed help, someone would probably provide it!! I wish we could go back to days when most people believed that! (And acted that way!)
