Finding a Friend is Like Fishing in the Ocean...

Finding friends is like fishing. You can catch anyone anywhere. Like for a fish, may it be small or big, still it can be a part of a meal. For people we meet around, we can get along and seem to have some good times but they are not actually someone you can call a friend. They can be there only for two reasons; for the good times and when they needed someone to depend on. Why I say for the good times? I got so many "friends" when I call out for a drink. When they go out, they don't even invite me. I am wondering if they really enjoy hanging out with me or it's just that they can drink for free. When they are in trouble, they call me. I feel so glad that they seek for my help and I do, in anyway I can. But when they are already okay, I don't hear a thing from them. After keeping me worried about the troubles they made, I don't even get the prize of getting relieved from the worries and stress. But not all people I find are like that. Of course, I do have long time friends who are still my friends over the years. We don't seem to have the "good times" like what I had with people I just knew but we remain connected in any way. Finding a real friend is like fishing in the ocean. You have to go farther and value the hardships you've gone through reaching for the a friend for life! How about you? What are your friends like?

That is well said, describing and relating your experiences. Yes, true friends are hard to find and are rare. That is why true friendship has to be appreciated and valued. "A friend in need, is a friend indeed", as the saying goes. That very much describes true friendship !

hi, finding a friend the real one is really hard, because you will meet many people that will be your friend but you really dont know how true are they, for me i will not find them,i will let them the one to find me,because now a days people will only ask for a friendship with but deep inside they just wanted benefits with you.

I don't have much friends in my life...well friends as in real friends. I do have lots of so called friends but I don't feel like they are real. huh! its like when we are together we are friends but we don't really miss or even look for each other... I am sad that most of the people whom I think of as my real friends turned to be unreal... But of course I also have very few friends whom I think are real, those friends that even we are not hanging out that much, even if we don't see each other for months or years, when we see each other, we feel that the bond is still there and they are also those who are like a family to me... Its really difficult to find real friends that's why when we found one, we should treasure them and be a true friend to them as well...
