My disabled son was 4 months old when I took him to Portugal in the autumn time. It was easy to travel in those days and I had a light weight travel cot for him. Our next trip was when he was 13 months old. We had got a flight to Riga. On that trip we visited Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. For our next trip I was 18 weeks pregnant with my daughter and my disabled son was 20 months old. We went to Cape Town and the Garden Route. My daughter was born just 2 days after her due date. So for my trip after that she was 11 months old and my disabled was 3 years old. We went to Canada and were loved it in Vancouver. Before my daughter got to 2 years old and my disabled son was 3 years old we went to the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
When I was a child my parents took me to Devon and Norfolk in my home country. We also went on day trips and short breaks to France. I had a globe when I was a child and I used to use my finger to show where I wanted to go in the future. I got a paper round at age 13 years old and a Saturday job in a shop. I saved up to go off traveling. With my mom I went to Greece at age 14 years old and to the Netherlands with a friend when I was 17 years old.
Did you travel in your childhood?
If you have kids where would you like to travel with them?
What are different age groups are like for traveling overseas?

I admire you for travelling with your children so often when they are so young. I would love to be able to travel more often. I have not been overseas with my children yet, but we have taken some large road trips throughout the East Coast of Australia with them. We are hoping to go on a cruise this year, which I have to seriously look into as it is getting close to the end already!
When I was growing up, family trips were always road trips and mostly in my home state of Victoria. We took one longer trip that took us to Queensland and then Sydney on the way home, but that was the largest one that we went on. I did not fly until I was an adult and went on my own to Brisbane for a holiday. Then a few years after that, I went around the world. My sister has also travelled around the world a fair bit as an adult, but my dad has still never flown and will not, so my mum has never fulfilled her dreams of travelling overseas yet.

I truly admire you. You are a great traveler and you know how to begin.
I used to read about countries in Europe like Spain and Portugal when I
was young. Hope to visit all these beautiful countries when I started
earning. Thank God for given me the chance to visit Malaga in Spain.
I have not visit Portugal yet.
I started bring my 10 months old son to Kuching, Sarawak but unfortunately
he was down with diarrhea just a day before our flight departure. So I have
to cut our trip short and fly back home for medical check up by his regular
pediatrician. Later I only bring him interstates trip which is 2 or 3 days
trip to Malacca and Penang. We started our overseas trip when he was 3 years
old to Singapore, Gold Coast, Sydney. Then we travel more often when he was
9 years old to South Korea, London, Eastern Europe, Middle East, China and USA.
I truly hope to visit more countries together with my family. It is a wonderful
experience to be together.

We took short trips around the state I live in and to So Dak. But as far as going very far...no. But that was years ago before travel was as easy as it is now. I did small trips with my kids too except for a trip to Hawaii...I loved traveling with my kids even on small trips.

Hi maximax,
Not flying trips as dawn has put it. Nut until I was in standard 10 along with my friend I traveled a lot specially the areas around our place. Of course I did not go abroad I made a couple of visits to the extreme end of the country and like.
I realty appreciate your zeal and enthusiasm for travelling.

I didn't travel much when I was a kid. The only trips I had as a child were those to my parent's hometown a couple of ferry boat rides away. Not much for travel. Now that I have my own kids, I bring them locally and abroad as much as I can.

No flying trips, but my parents took us on a lot of driving trips when we were kids, into Mexico and Canada and all over the United States.
