How many hours do you sleep at night? Do you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep? because I have trouble sleeping at night lately, before I could sleep for seven to eight hours every night, but now only four to five hours tops, and I know that the wide range of sleep that considered normal is seven to eight hours, My mother advice me to drink warm milk at night but still no affect...friends do you have same problem as mine? if yes what do you do to improve your sleep?

Warm milk and banana is good combination as we called it "downer" for call center agents who has same problem with sleeping.
Just it give it a try and if it still doesn't work I suggest that you have to check with your doctor or maybe some exercise will help you too.
have a good day

No, I don't experienced having trouble at all.I usually sleep late so by the time I lay on my bed I slept easily.I can say I have a weird attitude to because before going to bed I drink coffee, I don't know if it helps. Researches says that one should not drink coffee especially at night because you may have trouble going to sleep but it's the opposite in my case I guess.

Yeah, your right maybe there is an exemption in everything.I think drinking coffee helps me to sleep rather taking sleeping pills.

hi stanley:)
hehe yeah that's really weird because usually a coffee tends to make us awake, when I drink coffee I get palpitation and stay energized for an hour or more. so coffee for me is a no no during night time, but for you I suppose it's alright because it has the opposite effect on you.
thank you for your comment:)

I always have problems sleeping when I'm in a different bed other than my own, because it's something that's new to me at the time. I have learned in my degree that even if you can't sleep, just resting your body is almost as good and you will be able to function perfectly well the next day. I always have problems when I have to be up early in the morning, because my body isn't used to going to sleep early enough to allow me to get enough sleep that I need, so I settle for just relaxing for a couple of hours instead of sleeping for the entire night. I usually manage to get through they day by doing that, at least.

I, sometimes, take 1-2 hours to be able to sleep, but that's not a normal situation. When I can't sleep, I start to read a book of my college and usually this make me feel really tired and I sleep faster.
I know that a warm bath is also good to have a calm night of sleep, maybe you should give a try.

hi:)
Yes but I tried all that and nothing really helps, I don't know I'm thinking I have what they called insomia, but I dont want to conclude yet, because it only starts this week, and I'm really hoping that it'll end soon, because I dont want to feel tired all day because of lack of sleep at night.

Before, my job is mostly on night shift, that's mean I can't barely sleep at night. But since I found this new job I was so thankful because I can really sleep 8 to 10 hours of sleep each day. But there were times also that I can't hardly sleep when I drink coffee or more soda in daytime. It really give me troubles because I really feel asleep and tired when I'm at the office.

I get tired at night but it seems that i cant fall asleep as well. Now i do take benedryl to help me fall asleep at night because i would just sit there and wont go to sleep for hours. Benedryl does help me get to sleep for some hours but in the middle of the night i do wake up for my dog as he barks when my dad leaves the house. If my dog didnt bark i would be able to sleep through the night with just taking benedryl.
When i am out of town and sleeping by my boyfriend i get a really good nights sleep because i have no one to wake me up and really no reason to wake up early for so its good sleeping then for me.

Lately, it's been both for me.
People are constantly waking me up regardless of when I'm sleeping. I'll be taking a nap and my roommate will just barge into my room to see if I need or want anything, knowing that I'm already asleep or instead of leaving a note to say something like "I've gone to the store, BBS," he wakes me up anyway. I live in an apt complex and one of my two next door neighbors is so loud that I can hear her over two televisions, the central air conditioning, and a fan running... With two rooms between my apt and hers.. UGH. I also have another neighbor who just ... either likes to be a pain in the a$$ or is hoping I bludgeon the hell out of her with a ball bat one of these days. She always knocks for the most retarded sh!t ever... To ask if I'll go beat a level in a video game for her, to talk about her brother's homosexuality or the fact that her kids are biracial (yes, that's all the crazy bat ever talks about!). It's REALLY annoying.
On the days when people are gracious enough NOT to disturb me, I'm so anxiety ridden that I'm going to get woke up anyway that I automatically wake up every 30 or so minutes. I also take antianxiety medications that make me REALLY tired (they take about 10 hours to work through my system) that people intentionally go out of their way to keep me awake then as well.
One of these days it's just going to push me over the edge and I'm going to just react combatively.. *sigh*

hi zooey:)
that's horrible, they should know how to respect you if you're sleeping, you're roommate seems annoying. perhaps better if you tell them to not disturb you next time.
keep your cool:)

That has been my problem too. I tend to be anemic and if I don't get enough sleep for a long time , I feel so dizzy on some days that I can't even stand up from my bed.And I have vertigo too to make it worst.I used to buy Sleepasil , which is a herbal sleeping tablet but there are times when it is not working for me.I have read there in one of your commenters about drinking milk and eating banana which she calls a downer,i might try that one of these days. Seems to be effective as she said its what the call center people do.

I've never slept 8 hours a night. I've tried about everything you can think of. I can remember being awake at all hours and then going to school. Mom would always say how do you do it. I don't know, I just do what needs to be done. Sleep is secondary to me. I wish I had some suggestions for you, but I can't even resolve my own sleeping issues. Best Wishes!

My case is a bit weird.
While I'm on vacation, when I go to bed early, I get up late and when I go to bed late, I wake up early..
And I hate it because I always go to bed usually around midnight or 1 am, and I wake up between 8 am and 10 am, and I have nothing to do all day...
And if I go to bed early, I can't fall asleep because i'm not tired!
My vacation are just so boring... The only thing that I find Fun is playing video games and using mylot, but I can' do that all day, I usually get headaches If I stay on the computer for more than 4-5 hours..

hi marinepeter:)
hehe I want to do that, having a vacation and just play online or doing mylot, and then sleep until 9-10 am, I wish I could also have a vacation soon.
I think what you do is just enjoy your vacation, go to friends or spend time with your family, because when you need to work again you'll surely missed that.
thank you for your comment:)

I have touble falling asleep when I have so much to think or problem, and when i have sleeping problem I could fall asleep at two am but normally I go to be at ten pm. I listen to instrumental music before bedtime it can help me to feel relax and I discipline myself by turning off my cellphone before my bed time so nothing or noone can bother me. Have you tried warm shower before bed time? I usually feel sleepy after taking warm shower at night, plus using aromatherapy soap is making me relax.

I do try to sleep about 8 hours a night. Sometimes, it's a little more; other nights, it's a little less. But I try not to sleep less than 6 or 7 hours. I have to admit that there are nights when I do have a difficult time falling asleep. It's not every night, but I still have those nights when I just can't fall asleep. When I can't sleep, I try to drink some milk or something like that. Sometimes, I'll just get up and do something, like read a book, go online, or something like that. It does help me.

Exercise! If milk won't work then try getting your body tired by exercising. Not sure if it would work for you because people's body differ. For some, exhaustion can put them to a very deep sleep, for others it might excite them.
