I have one of those Virgin Mobile mifi gadgets that I connect with. Its called Broadband to Go. Works great. But, I somehow messed up the connection with my older HP desktop pc. I have been trying to clean up because it is plenty full and runs slow. I ran the computer disk cleanup tool deleting unnecessary and old or temp files. I have done this many times with no problem. But now the computer will not connect. The mifi allows up to 5 connections and my laptop and the desktop are all we have connecting right now. The laptop still connects fine. The pc is windows xp and uses a belkin usb wireless adapter. I can see where it tries to connect but the ip won't assign, keeps coming up 0.0.0.0. Any you guys good with wireless computer connections?

Oh god I haven't seen or used a Windows XP computer in ages. That was two OS's ago. But, have you tried to remove your adaptor and plug it back in again? There could be something wrong with the adaptor controls, or the abator itself. Because disc clean up should not "remove" any files that effect your wireless device. And, since your laptop hooks up just fine, leads me to suspect that the problem might lie in your adaptor. Another thing that could've happened, is in the process you might have accidently turned off your radio receiver not allowing the adaptor to detect a wireless connection. The wireless card must be on for the adaptor to work proprally. All adaptors do is boost the existing wireless card giving it a slightly wider range. THat's all I can think of at the moment that might help you out with your wireless device. But, from the sounds of it... sounds like your adaptor may be the thing at fault. Those things can die just like anything else.

lol, yes we have had that computer a long time! Changed my opinion on that brand. I used to not like them but now I fully respect them. This one has made it through several moves and two of my children have graduated and moved from home since we first got it! I did try removing the adapter..restarting it...restarting everything. I'm gonna try reinstalling the it as soon as I can find the software cd. But until then let me ask you about the radio receiver. Where do I check that? Advanced properties? Thanks kaylachan,
