Temperature Sensitive Cat

I have a cat who does not like the heat or the cold. He is very temperature sensitive, if the temperature is not what he wants it to be, then he will do what he can to change it if he can. He will go someplace where it is cooler or he will go someplace where it is warmer. It just always seems like he has to have things at a certain temperature or else he isn't happy. I know that there are people that are like this, but wasn't so sure that cats could be the same way. Does anyone here have cats that are like this?

huh...
It is so hot here, and yet, where we do have the ac going, most of the cats are not... we even have a few hanging out outside on the porch, loads in the kitchen without ac and only a few in the roomie's bedroom where she has the ac on, tho turned up most days... mine don't seem to care if its 100ยบ

Well, my cats live in a hot climate as well, we live in southern California, but my cat is still temperature sensitive. My two older cats are not like that, it's just my youngest cat. He only like things to be a normal temperature.

I think the spring/summer born cats are always surprised with the first winter and the fall/winter cats are by their first summer
Oliver would cuddle with me all winter that first winter but after he got his long hair, he didn't need me any more!

I think my three were born in the time span of Feb-April. Tiger is just getting old. This is the first year he did not want to lay outside in the shade during the day. He wants to be within about four feet of me, all of the time. If I go out, he goes out. If he thinks I am going out, he goes out. Like when he sees Bob headed for the front porch with two cups of coffee, he goes out because he knows I am coming out as well.

I have cats that will lay on the heating vent when they are cold. Of course that makes all of the rest of us cold because they block the warm air. I have cats that do not want to be inside when the a/c is on, but they do want to find someplace cool and shady to lay outside. They prefer the fresh natural air. I do most years, but this year it has been nasty hot. I have one cat that stays in almost all the time, just like me. If I am too hot, he does not like it outside either.

Yeah, sounds like a smart cat to me. From what it sounds like to me, it seems like most of the cats on here mostly prefer the heat.

He also always thinks there is a chance that there will be food and I may give him some, not likely. I do think most cats prefer the heat. We rescued a stray and gave it to my niece though and his hair is so incredibly thick, I think he prefers a cool spot, like a tile floor or wooden bookshelf. He is also water resistant, too many layers of hair.

My cat does that as well. He loves to sleep next to me or my mother.
